The Jewish Agency is debating a plan called “Securing the Future”. The program aims to “Inspire Jews throughout the world to connect with their People, heritage and homeland, and Empower them to build a thriving Jewish future and a strong Israel.”

The only way to do this is by renewing Torah observance on a mass scale. Please read my open letter to the Jewish Agency and feel free to comment.

Open Letter To the Jewish Agency:

    Shalom from Jerusalem,

I guess I was not the typical American Jewish youth. Ever since I was young I was always making campaigns for various Jewish and Israeli causes. I spent time organizing fundraising drives to help Jewish security patrols to defend Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and organized rallies for our imprisoned brother Jonathan Pollard. I am not discussing whether these activities were the correct course of action, what I am talking about is the involvement aspect. Why were me and my friends involved and not our average secular Jewish peers.

Leaders, the time has come for a national return to true Jewish values, which come from the Torah. If you would wisely lead the Jewish nation en-mass back to its roots, the relationship to Israel would become simple. There is no division in the Torah between nationalism and religious commands; they are one body with one soul. We would be wise to heed the words of our holy Torah:

I have a feeling that you understand in your hearts of hearts that this is the right and only effective way to go and everything else is just a game. However this would take serious courage and vision from the leaders of the worldwide Jewish community. It would also take some serious lifestyle changes as well, and I pray you have the strength to do it! The Jewish exiles across the world are dying at a ever quickening pace, a choice must be made and fast. The Torah tells us that only 1/5 of the Jewish People merited to leave Egypt and the rest were killed off during the plague of Darkness. This 80% majority did not want to leave, they were so attached to their gentile surroundings they could not fathom to leave it despite the harsh physical slavery. Jews today are also enslaved, but spiritually speaking that is why in 2001 NJPS reported about 50% of married Jews had a non-Jewish partner. I would not be surprised if that number was over 60% by now. The only chance of saving the Jewish People is by renewing the covenant, as we have already merited to witness the ‘First Budding of Our redemption” in the founding of the State of Israel, may we now witness the fulfillment of the prophetic verse:

“And I shall put My spirit within you and bring it about that you walk in My statuses and keep My ordinances…Then you will dwell in the land that I gave your fathers, and you will be a people to Me, I will be to you as a God.” Ezekiel 36: 27-28

    Respectfully awaiting your response.

I can see the thought that went into writing this letter.

May the z’chus of your caring bring them to recognition of truth.
