My son in Israel and a lot of his friends got a great deal with Orange cell phone company. Most of us got crazy charges to our credit cards in December and January. I’m trying to fight it but they claim my son signed the contract. The problem is that the contract is in hebrew and it was explained to them in english. Does anyone else have this problem and was able to fight it successfully?

Orange, and other large cell companies that held the market before it was opened up are all a pack of theives. The contracts are designed with traps in small print that constitute their business plan.

If it is an American credit card, it is easy to call your credit card company and request a “charge-back” (also called a dispute). Claim the charges were unauthorized. Tell them charges agreed to were different (and explain.) If your son is not on your credit card as an “authorized user”, also claim the contract was not signed by yourself or an authorized cardholder. If he is an authorized cardholder, claim the signed agreement does not allow the merchant to make those extra charges.
