Feivel that it exactly! Where I read it it assumed the rock is denser than water, and so it displaces more water inside the boat (the amount of water equal to it in weight) than it does outside (the amount of water equal to it in volume)

If the rock is as dense as water, or less dense, it would displace the exact same amount of water inside and outside – the amount which is equal to it in weight.

    Meno why is this incorrect?

    Feivel and Person1,

You’re correct, for some reason I automatically assumed the rock was less dense than water and would therefore float. I now realize how silly my mistake was

Where can I get some of this “neutron star” stuff?

I just need a little bit.

Meno – outerspace. wiki says a neutron star is “a celestial object of very small radius (typically 18 miles/30 km) and very high density, composed predominantly of closely packed neutrons. Neutron stars are thought to form by the gravitational collapse of the remnant of a massive star after a supernova explosion, provided that the star is insufficiently massive to produce a black hole”. if you want to learn more about Hashems awesome world of astronomy theres crash course astronomy on you tube.

I know who mickey mouse is, he’s the mouse that used to live in our kitchen. The kids called him mickey. We had to send him away to a place where there was more cheese to eat and more room for him to run around.

But how do you know him?

I just looked up in all the high cabinets, even on the ceiling, he’s not there.

I told you, we had to send him away to a nice place with lots of cheese, etc.

Sarcastic is my middle name: Meno Sarcastic…

(I don’t have a last name, so maybe that would mean Sarcastic is my last name. Not sure how that works.)
