February 19, 2021 9:44 am at 9:44 am #1949973☕️coffee addictParticipantBH I haven’t got sick from this virus and didn’t pass it along to my wife who has a pre existing condition
February 19, 2021 9:46 am at 9:46 am #1949978akupermaParticipantUniversal indoor plumbing (in the 19th century, few Yidden had it)
Antibiotics (a century ago, strep left you sick for months, and was often fatal)
Maternal and infant mortality are rare
Sefarim are cheaper, more available, and easier to read
Ability to walk down the street with a kippa and not get attacked (at least in the USA)
Hecksherim (Ingredient kosher is what people used to do in the past)
Most jobs (and almost all universities and career) are open to frum Jews (even if openly frum)
Genocide is considered illegal (even against us)
Antisemitism is disreputable (anyone saying something anti-Jewish has to explain he didn’t mean it)February 19, 2021 10:30 am at 10:30 am #1949998☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCoffee Addict, have either of you been able to get vaccinated?
February 19, 2021 10:36 am at 10:36 am #1949997☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAn opinion article in the WSJ suggests we are approaching herd immunity and there will be few cases of Covid-19 by April.
February 19, 2021 2:35 pm at 2:35 pm #1950058☕️coffee addictParticipantDy,
Our appointments are next week IYH for the first dose
February 19, 2021 2:57 pm at 2:57 pm #1950069Reb EliezerParticipantThe cup is half full and not half empty. כל מה דעבד רחמנא לטב עבד, whatever Hashem does, He does for the good.
February 19, 2021 3:11 pm at 3:11 pm #1950072Reb EliezerParticipantגם זו לטובה, this is also for the good.
February 19, 2021 6:04 pm at 6:04 pm #1950090Reb EliezerParticipantThe Hafloah says that we want to convince someone to do mitzvos, let us do it by emphasizing the positive ובחרת בחיים, choose life, the reward for doing mitzvos and not the punishment. When raising children, emphasize the positive, what they are doing good and how good they are because of it. Praise them when they do good and do not figure that no praise is required because their behavior is normal.
February 20, 2021 7:28 pm at 7:28 pm #1950193Reb EliezerParticipantWhen emphasizing the positive, it will bring to love rather tban fear.
February 20, 2021 7:29 pm at 7:29 pm #1950118MadeAliyahParticipantIt can’t get much worse than this, right?
February 20, 2021 10:41 pm at 10:41 pm #1950222☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantOur appointments are next week IYH for the first dose
Hatzlocha with that.
February 21, 2021 12:31 am at 12:31 am #1950237☕️coffee addictParticipant“Hatzlocha with that.”
Thanks, that’s why I said IYH
February 21, 2021 6:51 am at 6:51 am #1950303Sam KleinParticipantIf only we all knew just how important it is to always be positive in all situation in life. Hashem even created a math called algebra where 2 negatives become positive. Have you ever heard of such a thing? What happens today when someone strikes out twice? He’s heading towards a third time and getting into big trouble. But no Hashem created algebra where 2 negatives become positive. That’s how important it is to always look at the positive in every situation and always be a positive person
February 21, 2021 9:58 am at 9:58 am #1950365Reb EliezerParticipantPurim venehapoch hu, turn the bad into good, the negative into positive by applying a double negative.
February 21, 2021 2:03 pm at 2:03 pm #1950455Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantCOVID eradicated flu and probably other less successful viruses.
February 21, 2021 2:04 pm at 2:04 pm #1950456Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantCOVID revealed who your real friends are and unmasked those who do not care about others and pretended to be smart and learned.
This is decreasing demand for shaliach manot and freeing funds for matanot la evyonim.
February 21, 2021 3:21 pm at 3:21 pm #1950494🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantNothing like injecting low level hatred where it doesn’t belong. I was positively hoping for for better.
February 21, 2021 5:23 pm at 5:23 pm #1950540Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantMrs. Syag, trying my best!

Is it related to the sudah to share our sudah with others or to send presents to everyone in order not to ashame the poor? The first side might be the reason as currently in Jerusalem, matonas leavyoni, caring for the poor, goes with the reading of the megilla on Friday and the mishelach manos, to show unity toward each other, is on the day of the sudah on Sunday.
February 22, 2021 9:31 am at 9:31 am #1950782Reb EliezerParticipantThe Ksav Sofer questions whether on Purim Katan we should make a sudah? He says if טוב לב משתה תמיד if someone is good hearted and willing to give also mishloach manos, he can make a sudah too.
February 22, 2021 11:48 am at 11:48 am #1950874Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantMore positive thoughts, it is really a good topic, thanks Mrs Syag
it will be easy to vaccinate some of the communities at the weddings, 1000 people at a time.
Hashem is making it really easy to become a tzaddik. It used to require being honest in business, greet every person first, learn Torah kuloh, waking up for vasikin – now, you put on a mask (properly) and you are already ahead of the olam! L
‘havdil same thing at the Ivy league – applications are up, as people think they can get in without SATFebruary 22, 2021 12:11 pm at 12:11 pm #1950894🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantIs thanking a person while offending them supposed to be entertaining? Would it have been too painful to allow one thread not to be injected with put downs and controversy? Is that just some people’s idea of humor or is it a lack of social graces?
February 22, 2021 1:00 pm at 1:00 pm #1950926☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIs being dan l’kaf z’chus a positive thought?
I am being dan l’kaf z’chus that the Covid lockdowns and mask wearing have affected people’s midos, and really they are nice people. I hope the damage isn’t permanent and that after this is all over they will go back to being nice.
February 23, 2021 7:49 am at 7:49 am #1951221☕️coffee addictParticipant“Hatzlocha with that.“
I was exposed so had to cancel mine ☹️
Sorry for being negative (but hopefully I really am negative)
February 23, 2021 11:20 am at 11:20 am #1951288trybepoliteParticipantHashem loves you like elderly parents love an only child.
There is always a reason to smile you just have to find it
February 23, 2021 2:52 pm at 2:52 pm #1951362Reb EliezerParticipantThe Chidushei Harim explains the curse to the snake,as dust is available everywhere, where Hashem says to him, here is your food and don’t bother Me anymore but for us, He wants our prayer daily as Hilel said, I bless Hashem daily.
February 23, 2021 10:04 pm at 10:04 pm #1951542Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantYWN reports that Israelis came up with some substance that can be inhaled. 10% of the mispalelim who did not inhale were positive, 2% of those who inhaled, and 0% of those who did not come. Is this positive enough?! 10% is staggering, ithis is what Romans called “decimation”. At least one per minyan.
February 26, 2021 1:55 pm at 1:55 pm #1952459Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantIt took Covid for kids to realize that they can give shaloh-monosto each other and their parents!
February 26, 2021 1:59 pm at 1:59 pm #1952473☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAAQ: L’chaim!
