Which gedolei poskim today answer pikuach nefesh shailos, that can address time sensitive shailos that entail a possible pikuach nefesh situation regardless of which course of action is chosen?

I’m not sure what that means. Can you give examples?
November 29, 2017 11:16 pm at 11:16 pm #1415708slominerParticipantTaking someone off a respirator, other medical shailos or taking a job that contain an element of pikuach nefesh for the person doing the job or, if he doesn’t do it, a pikuach nefesh risk for someone else since it isn’t done.
November 30, 2017 10:29 am at 10:29 am #1415905The little I knowParticipantOP asked; “Which gedolei poskim today…..”
My inquiry is simple. Such questions, involving pikuach nefesh should be answerable by anyone who is a posek. Pikuach nefesh is not a specialty area. When I hear someone ask “Which poskim” about a non-specialty area, I wonder whether the individual is shopping for a psak. That is greatly different from asking a shailoh. I wonder what the OP is asking.

Clearly the toughest decision we make in our lives and having emunah gives one the strength to follow through.

This is the CR
We all do!TLIK
Your inquiry is TOO simple. Some aspects of Pikuach nefesh absolutely are a specialty area.
Obviously there are general rules of thumb that every posek should be familiar with but without question many specific questions involve details that many Rabbonim are not familiar with.Take something as routine as CPR vs a DNR. I have asked 7 different Rabbonim who have given piskei halacha on this issue. Only one was accurately able to describe CPR, its sequale, odds of success, etc.
That isnt to say this is entirly thee fault of Rabbonim
There are several reasons for this. some of the fault lies with the medical profession who are often quite reluctant to discuss details with Rabbonim, some lies due to the high stress of the situation critical information is nt given over may change the psak one way or the otherNovember 30, 2017 10:47 am at 10:47 am #1415962iacisrmmaParticipantIn my circle of friends and family, I have never heard that any poseik has allowed taking someone off a respirator.
November 30, 2017 11:06 am at 11:06 am #1415985funnyboneParticipantI have discussed those questions w my LOR. At times hhe has told me that he will discuss it with another rabbi and will get back to me.

Rabbi Schienberg in Flatbush. He has many doctors in his Shul & he does this all the time.

This is generally true, but there are exceptions.
