When a poster doesn’t use paragraph breaks.
When a poster insists on capitalizing every other word because he can’t make his point without resorting to shouting.
When a poster uses an archetype to make a meaningless point. For example “the Holocaust happened because people didn’t keep shabbos therefore…” or “Leiby Kletzky died because of…therefore…”
When somebody posts a perfectly reasonable response to a question asks and the person addressed in the post disregards it.
When a poster acknowledges a point made by a fellow poster and concedes, but goes on to spew the same rubbish which which he acknowledged was wrong in another thread.
When a poster posts something ridiculous in a tznius or OTD thread et al, like “oy! what have we come to! klal yisrael do teshuva!” that is of absolutely no relevance whatsoever.
That’s all for now, but I’m sure others will comment further on this thread with things that irk them like “When a poster posts a thread about what irks him about other posters.”
December 27, 2011 4:19 pm at 4:19 pm #838871BowwowParticipantHow about people who do not have basic writing skills or use spell check? (BTW- OP please check your post)
December 27, 2011 4:46 pm at 4:46 pm #838872🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI second the spelling error complaint. “nose piecings” has been driving me nuts since it hit the front page.
When posters jump all over other posters for things they never really said and then initiate a whole thread of it.
When people ignore other posts pointing out possible misunderstandings or clarifications that would stop a fight.
When people don’t ignore posts that were just posted to annoy/irritate/instigate. If everyone would ignore those posts they would disappear into the crowd.
Negativity in general.
I can’t complain about the nasty and mean posts because the people who post those don’t realize/believe they are doing it.
December 27, 2011 4:47 pm at 4:47 pm #838873soliekMemberToo late now, but that was a typo, not disregard for the English language.
December 27, 2011 5:32 pm at 5:32 pm #838874ZeesKiteParticipantThat’s such a long list of dos and don’ts. Then we have to make sure it’s not lashon hara, rechilus, onaas devarim, halbanas panim ect. Whew! No wonder I don’t post anything. (sensible)
December 27, 2011 5:34 pm at 5:34 pm #838875ToiParticipantWhen a poster doesn’t use paragraph breaks.
December 27, 2011 5:44 pm at 5:44 pm #838876mommamia22ParticipantWhen people who have anger issues use this forum to displace their emotions by bashing others.
December 27, 2011 5:44 pm at 5:44 pm #838877yungerman1ParticipantSyag Lchochma- I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed that ‘cuz I didnt see any comment on it. It was driving me crazy!
December 27, 2011 6:57 pm at 6:57 pm #838878HaLeiViParticipantWhen an argument goes round and round without any new points being brought up.
December 27, 2011 7:07 pm at 7:07 pm #838879MiddlePathParticipantI’m with Syag and mommamia. Sometimes, the negativity here is just overwhelming. And it is not fair to the rest of us when a few posters use this forum simply as a way to get out their aggression. Go do that somewhere else, where you won’t hurt anyone. Go bang on the walls in your house.
December 27, 2011 8:08 pm at 8:08 pm #838880🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI really believe they don’t know they are doing it. Any time that I have seen posters point out to someone that they are being aggressive, the posters usually respond defensively (anger is a defense mechanism too). With or without explanations to justify their tone, or with counter-accusations. It tells me that they really don’t/can’t hear themselves the way others hear them.
December 27, 2011 10:49 pm at 10:49 pm #838881Ctrl Alt DelParticipantThe following is a post that conforms to Syag’s rules.
Thank you, that is all.
December 27, 2011 11:09 pm at 11:09 pm #838882☕️coffee addictParticipantwhen there are multiple “topics” of the same topic (don’t you think this should’ve been part of “pet peeve”)
December 27, 2011 11:16 pm at 11:16 pm #838883popa_bar_abbaParticipantWhen a poster agrees with me. It makes it no fun. I try to avoid this.
December 28, 2011 12:16 am at 12:16 am #838884ED IT ORParticipantwhat annoy’s me is when posters have an all out argument with each other on a thread with no shychus what they are arguing about!
Rant over.
December 28, 2011 12:40 am at 12:40 am #838885yitayningwutParticipantPopa – I totally agree.
December 28, 2011 12:40 am at 12:40 am #838886always runs with scissors fastParticipantDo you know what I think of posts/threads? Its sort of like a bunch of anonymous people sitting blind folded in a circle in a room, who will never actually meet one another.
Then you’re passed a piece of paper on which to add your 2 cents to the conversation or to create one, then it gets passed around until the thread tires itself out.
Sometimes I feel the only posts that matter are mine. LOL
December 28, 2011 1:05 am at 1:05 am #838887cinderellaParticipantWhen people can’t admit they were wrong.

December 28, 2011 1:13 am at 1:13 am #838889☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSometimes I feel the only posts that matter are mine. LOL
I often feel the same way (except that sometimes I like mine as well).
December 28, 2011 1:16 am at 1:16 am #838890☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIt also annoys me when someone tries to tag something, but messes up, so you see something like this:
That’s exactly my point, only I said it much better<em.
I do this all the time.
December 28, 2011 1:30 am at 1:30 am #838891🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantCAD – if I was overly sensitive I would assume you were insulting me but since I don’t think I said anything insultable, I’ll assume you were joking.
December 28, 2011 2:12 am at 2:12 am #838892HaLeiViParticipantWhy is everyone talking about me today?
December 28, 2011 3:37 am at 3:37 am #838893yentingyentaParticipantwhen other posters miss the boat s/o was trying to get them to notice

December 28, 2011 3:42 am at 3:42 am #838894WolfishMusingsParticipantWhen posters feel the need to sign each and every post.
The Wolf
December 28, 2011 5:46 am at 5:46 am #838895commonsenseParticipantWhen everyone gets so bothered by what everyone else does when posting. You all have the power to close any thread you don’t like and not read it or participate in it. Stop getting so bothered about stupidities.
When posters get so caught up in the minutiae of other posts. So what if every word is not typed perfectly. We are all typing fast and some of us are not perfect typists and will make typos or have grammatical errors. If you can understand what the poster is saying, good enough! This is not an English class, it’s an informal forum and posters shouldn’t have to worry about the technical correctness of their posts.
December 28, 2011 6:30 pm at 6:30 pm #838896BTGuyParticipantHi soliek.
Nice paragraph breaks. On THIS posting of yours. lol
Regarding annoying things about posts in general. Remember, people are not turning in
their doctoral thesis papers here.
While many proofread and rewrite before posting, many posts are the reaction to a reading and
posting. Typos and the way someone slaps their keyboard, especially when they are posting
something with emotion or a strong opinion, will lead to less than “perfect papers”. But it’s all
good.
Actually, in general, I dont like when people take cheap shots at the content of someone’s point by pointing out their typos or poor sentence structure or even using caps. Really! If someone uses caps to make a point, is it REALLY yelling?? THEN COVER YOUR EARS OR LOWER THE VOLUME ON YOUR SOUND CONTROL. lol
December 28, 2011 6:55 pm at 6:55 pm #838897TheGoqParticipantPosters who place a link in an opening post without adding any opinion of their own.
December 28, 2011 7:05 pm at 7:05 pm #838898soliekMember😀 i wasnt looking to express my opinions, i just wanted to start a discussion
December 28, 2011 7:57 pm at 7:57 pm #838899TheGoqParticipantFair enough
December 28, 2011 8:53 pm at 8:53 pm #838900goldenkintMemberwhen posters are very stupid and say dumb things and argue especially if their opinions differ from mine. now who can argue with that. just kidding.
there should be a special font to indicate ‘just kidding” it would eliminate a lot of misunderstandings
how is that for paragraph breaks.
i’m an English major but i can’t be bothered to capitalise or fix minor typos because really i haven’t got the time
December 28, 2011 9:50 pm at 9:50 pm #838901soliekMember“i’m an English major but i can’t be bothered to capitalise or fix minor typos because really i haven’t got the time”
