For example I polish my shabbos shoes before putting them away…
Heck, I begin preparing for the next Shabbos even *before* the present one is finished.

We set up the leichter for the next Shabbos.
do you do that to be more organized and a mitzva to get ready for shabbos ?
well we’s’s divnt botha polishing owa shoos atall
but we’s’s do make spayce in the fridge fa next weeek
1. Rolling up the Shir HaShirim Klaf (if I didn’t on Friday before Shkia)
2. Folding and putting away Shabbos Tallis
3. Brushing & Folding Shabbos suit, shoes, etc…
4. Running the dishwasher of Shabbos dishes
Personally, I like the leichter to be set up specifically as a “zechus mitzvah” for the next Shabbos. My husband handles this tafkid, so it gives him the opportunity to actively participate in specific Shabbos preparations. That is not to say he doesn’t help me in other ways, too, but this is his “baby.” And don’t we daven every day “hayom yom… ba-Shabbos?” We are supposed to be thinking every single day, of the next Shabbos, so why not immediately AFTER Shabbos, in a meaningful way that actually impacts on the Shabbos?
