January 18, 2013 12:45 am at 12:45 am #921053R.T.ParticipantIf at all possible, try walking (a simple walk) after eating. Avoid sitting down and/or napping immediately after eating. Hatzlacha!
January 18, 2013 12:47 am at 12:47 am #921054JustHavingFunParticipantPlease get it checked out by seeing a doctor! (Don’t rely upon the coffee room for medical opinions; I’m not a doctor but I play one on the Internet.)
GERD is not limited to acid reflux/heartburn. You should get a medical checkup. There are changes in the nerves that can occur which can resemble the symptoms you describe without feeling the classic heartburn. Other illnesses, like diabetes, can also cause changes that make you feel nauseous and/or like you have a lump in your throat. If you are experiencing anxiety or stress, that can be a trigger, too. There are medications that can prevent this from becoming full-fledged GERD. Hatzlachah.

January 18, 2013 3:57 am at 3:57 am #921058oomisParticipantPLEASE get in touch with a really good gastroenterologist. You could have a muscle weakness that allows food to be regurgitated (I can’t remember what this is called, maybe it’s the pylorus). In any case, this MUST be looked at by a doctor ASAP. Please take this seriously. It could be a simple thing (BE”H), or maybe not so simple. Either way, you need to know. Have a refuah shelaima. BTW, you can have esophagitis without feeling you have reflux.

January 18, 2013 7:13 pm at 7:13 pm #921060oomisParticipantNo, sorry smartstar. I am not from around there. BTW, you should probably be tested for CELIAC. It can present with gastric distress (though not caused by meat, but rather by the gluten found in many foods, like bread, cake, even certain medications that contain flour-based starch as a binder or in the coating).
