    What is the right pronunciation for the names of the sons of Homon? Do we pronounce them as they would or as we normally would depending on how we read the rest of the megillah? Or are there other considerations?

    Example: Yisroel Dovid Weiss. That guy has been around the block so much, from Chaim Berlin to Vizhnitz to Satmar but not yet to cherem, that his name could be pronounced Yisroel Dovid or Yisrooel-Doovid. Maybe Ismail Daoud al Beyda is best?

    Or George Soros. Given that Ingarisch is looshen hakoidesh, do we pronounce that name as “Soros Gyorgi” during krias hamegilla?

    What of Solomon Dwek? I have a minhag to pronounce the W as a resh because there is no W sound in loshon hakoidesh as I normally read it (yes, I know there is in other versions). Is that acceptable here?

    Then there is the question of Ahron Cohen. For some strange reason, this one lehavdil has the same name as Aharon haCohen – and we don’t want to make a mistake here. Considering he is in real cherem, can we just stomp our feet and run our groggers at the very end of the list of names rather than pronouncing it? Or should we just say “Ha Har Harou Haroun is Crazy as a Loon?”

    TBBA: It took me a while to chap where you were heading with this one but eventually the penny dropped. Now when I reread your post its very funny and well thought out. Kol hakavod.

    Yes the nutty karta members should receive the same treatment as homon’s sons for sure!

    BTW If anybody needs a minyan for megilla, dont chas vshalom go to a nutty karta minyan whatever you do for 2 reasons; Firstly you wont have a minyan of kosher shomer shabbos jews there as they are: A. All chayav meesa so have din like treifos, B. They are REALLY not shomer shabbos cause they attend demonstrations on shabbos, and C. They are NK which stands for Not Kosher. Secondly they take 4 hours over megilla like satmar cause they also bang every time the baal koreh says the word ‘medina’ 😉

    Only rule I know of, is that the 10 sons are to be recited in 1 breath;

    Given that albeit the Ba’al Koreh can be Motzi the Tzibbur their obligation of Megillah reading, yet he cannot be Motzi their Chiyuv of 1 breath, hence several Shuls have the Minhog for all the congregants to recite the 10 sons in their own 1 breath before the Ba’al Koreh repeats it, much as is done by the other 4 verses recited by the congregation & then repeated by the Ba’al Koreh.

    It is lamentable that this beautiful Minhog has not been universally adopted by all congregations.

    The question is, should you say “WolfishMusings” or “The Wolf?”

    When I read it, should I say either of the above or just “me.”

    The Wolf

    I think the Mishna Brura says not to do this. So why should we universally accept to do something against the Mishna Brura?

    Mockery is the best way to deal with the Nutter Kartel. They really aren’t deserving of much more.

    skiaddict you’re right. Nk its not amusing. Its actually sick and abhorent. Why are you defending people who shake hands with and support the biggest sonei yisrael and holocaust deniers of our generation? Please justify yourself.

    FYI skiaddict:- I gleefully recite Naturei Karta + all 10 sons all in 1 breath, because they all are so closely connected with Iran, hence they are 1 & the same.
