i heard that if you are going to get a vista comp make sure you have at least 2 gb of ram because vista runs a lot of side programs that if you dont have a decent amount of memory it will slow things down significantly

Vista is clear to use. Everything is right in front of you. It’s basically the same as the others. Do they sell computers that aren’t vista. I just bought a laptop and the ones that i looked at (which was a lot) were only vista.

I switched from XP to Vista a couple of months ago and I don’t see much of a difference. It seems pretty easy so far.

    qwertyuiop –

I got a laptop with Windows Vista around a year or two ago, and miss my old laptop (which had XP) dearly. I find Vista to be much slower, but I do believe that they might have improved it since it first came out…

From what I’ve heard, on the whole people were much happier with XP than they are with Vista.

Pros: Microsoft OS is the most commonly used OS and I guess you want to go with the flow

    Cons: Microsoft

For running Vista, you should be running a dual-core processor, and at least 2GB of RAM.

However, Windows 7, which should hopefully be being released by the end of the year, will run a lot faster than Vista on the same system specifications

when buying a new laptop I was told to get XP over Vista, my comp guy told me that vistas flopped. Slower than XP.

It depends on what you want, and the specifications of the new laptop…
