March 11, 2009 4:01 pm at 4:01 pm #640698YW Moderator-72ParticipantWe received a very creative shalach manos.
the base was a yellow flower shaped candy bowl.
inside was a small round cake with yellow frosting and red and orange licorice sticking out of the sides like sun beams. the cake was propped up on its by the detachable stand of the candy dish.
The rest of the package was filled with only yellow packages of assorted candies and chips and a juice box and a little foam smiley face sun
in front of the cake was a magnet with the brocha for Bircas haChammah.

I like that latke with apple sauce idea! I gotta remember it for next year.
March 12, 2009 8:08 pm at 8:08 pm #640700areivimzehlazehParticipantI wore myself… was the biggest hit in brooklyn!
March 12, 2009 8:23 pm at 8:23 pm #640701mazal77ParticipantOkay, here’s one costume that I thought was creative and funny. The Kid wore an oversized sweatshirt, in the hood, was placed a wig head. They poked holes in the middle of the sweatshirt, so he could see out of it. He looked like an alien and was really tall.
Near Moisha’s supermarket, on East 4th street, you will see an effigy of Haman hanging off a lampost. I just saw it today, and I thought that was hysterical!!
March 12, 2009 8:33 pm at 8:33 pm #640702moish01Memberhey no one saw me i guess 😉

March 12, 2009 9:47 pm at 9:47 pm #640712moish01Memberwow charlie – that’s a variation that never crossed my mind! ha well, my dad is actually clean shaven so the red beard wouldn’t work. plus my dad doesn’t ever tell me what to do.
squeak, NO AIRCAST!
and anonymisss, NO FRECKLES! that’s areivim you’re describing!
ames, of course i wore the hat. my dad got the biggest kick out of it. and believe it or not, my brother (mr. perfect child) was dying to wear it to his party at yeshiva, but i didn’t let 😉
March 12, 2009 9:51 pm at 9:51 pm #640713mazal77ParticipantAmes, becareful of what you wish for.
Charlie & Squeak, very funny!! ROTFL!! Sorry Moish, it really was funny.
March 12, 2009 9:59 pm at 9:59 pm #640714anonymisssParticipantYou know what’s funny, moish? I don’t know how old your brother is (he is younger than you, right?) but I have a sister who’s a little less than two years older than me who was always Mrs. Perfect Child. I see where you’re coming from about not letting him where it. I can definitely understand. (Of course, a really nice guy would’ve….)
