how much do you think it’s normal to spend on each mishloach manos?
As much hard earned money as you’re ready to part with for a mitvzah that has no bigger Hiddur if you spend more on it.
I like to order from kerenaniyem.com They are nice, reasonable, and the money goes to tzaddakah.
I think we all would like a nice check.
In our communities in eretz yisroel, the rabbonim and organizations that help pple weekly put food on the table, have come out over the past couple of years asking us to please cut down on the mishloach manos etc. and focus on giving for matonos la-evyonim. It is a true kiddush hashem.
i think its so cute to do a theme thats my opinion (if you can afford it)
amichai: The Rabbonim in the N.Y. metropolitan area have had takanos on mishloach manos too. People have cut down and I for one am happy to see the change.
I don’t think you have to spend much at all. If the purpose is to increase kinship and friendship, then spending more for less people, or minimal for more people, id go with minimal for more people.
I plan on giving 2 manos to a friend.
Shtetl theme: black bread and herring. If you’re rich (live in a house with 2 floors) you can throw in an exotic fruit like an orange.
