Does it drive you crazy also? You see someone you want to talk to in the street so you go over to them and begin your serious conversation energetically. They nod politely. Five minutes into your drasha, the guy either suddenely either points to his ear, or holds up his hands and says “Oh I’m so sorry. Were you speaking to me? I’m in the midle of a call. I will be with you soon”. Grrrrr.
It slowly sinks in that he was never with you at all. He was on his phone well before you went over to him, happily speaking to someone else on his almost hidden bluetooth headset, and it took him five minutes to register that you were in front of him talking!
So what does this have to do with lunatics? Simple. There was a time up to only a few years ago when a guy walking the streets muttering to himself would be picked up and placed in the appropriate mental health facility. But nowadays we are all doing it. Nobody gives them a second look! And so, there they are, still wandering our streets, and undetected by all.
Is it any wonder there are so many crazy people out there???
I remember the first time I saw a guy with a bluetooth! At first we thought he was some ‘nebach’ guy with mental deficiencies. Then when we noticed the the hanging on his ear, I exclaimed to my wife, “Oh my Gosh! You watch and see, one day we’ll all be wearing those, and being a cyborg will be perfectly normal.”
