Why is the pasuk “ma rabbu maasecha” omitted from the Shabbos morning “yotzair or”?
November 8, 2020 3:26 pm at 3:26 pm #1917841computerinvestigatorParticipantBecause HAMEIR Laretytz is ommitted. The whole thing we say has to do with shabbos which is the day of rest. Hashem rested from creating the world.
November 8, 2020 3:29 pm at 3:29 pm #1917844Reb EliezerParticipantMaybe, we don’t make kinyonim on shabbos. We become the kinyonim of Hashem by following His Torah over the week being his kinyonim on shabbos. The pasuk is teaching us to become kinyonim of His done over the week.
November 8, 2020 3:38 pm at 3:38 pm #1917849Reb EliezerParticipantcomputerinvestigator, did you notice that HAMEIR Laaretz is there but rearrainged?
November 8, 2020 5:04 pm at 5:04 pm #1917852Reb EliezerParticipantIn Pirkei Avos (6,11) says that Yisroel is a kinyan. In Tehilim (104,23) it says before this pasuk yetzei adam lapaaalo laavodaso adei erev might refer to prayer done on the day of work, a week day as avoda is tefila through which we become the kinyan of Hashem.
November 8, 2020 5:05 pm at 5:05 pm #1917854Reb EliezerParticipantShould be above arranged.
November 8, 2020 5:39 pm at 5:39 pm #1917884Reb EliezerParticipantWe say Hameir laaretz vlaadorim aleho berachamim, Who lights up the earth and those who reside on it through mercy, referring to the Bnei Yisroel.
November 8, 2020 7:28 pm at 7:28 pm #1917910Reb EliezerParticipantI found an answer on Otzar Hatefilos that on shabbos there is no maaseh but I have a problem with it as we mentiion it in Mizmor Shir Layom Hashabos, so I forced myself to give another explanation.

That’s a very good question. It is missing, but only in Nusach Ashkenaz. Nusach Sefarad kept it in.
