I’ve heard that there’s a Rabbi Carlebach in Lakewood that girls go to on Purim for a bracha and every one of them get engaged within a year. Does anyone know about this? I want to go but I don’t know where he lives and what it’s about!

    Let me get this straight.

You think that the reason G-d is not letting you get married is because you haven’t found the right rabbi to give you the right bracha on purim.

I was addressing pba, l’shitaso. There’s no question that the right bracha from the right person can help. (Although I don’t know who the OP was referring to.)

Firstly, many people get engaged anyway, and you only hear the success stories.

Secondly, it is probably the ???.

You asked if anyone “knows about this”.

I assumed you were asking about its efficacy as well as for his address, which you can probably find in the phonebook.

But if you weren’t, I’m sorry. I’ll duck out of this thread. (unless it gets fun.)

I wish you the very best, in this endeavor and in all others.

He doesn’t say anything. I’ve heard this from “around” and wanted to know if anyone could provide me with details so that I myself can go and hopefully benefit this year.

apushatayid–we all realize the ribbono shel olam is the source of all bracha yet we all engage in hishtadlus and then leave the outcome to him. If this good rabbi has a track record of helping thru his brachos then consider that the hishtadlus and of course if successful the ribbono shel olam gets the credit and the rabbi gets an assist.

To some of the above posters, why must you make fun of people receiving Brochas? A talmid chochom has awesome powers that we cannot fathom. Throughout our Mesora people have gone with their various issues to their Rebbeim and Rabbonim for help and Eitzas. Please be very careful when you dismiss the power of a sincere Bracha.

Remember you get a bracha from your parents before Yom Kippur for a reason. It is because they wish you a sincere year of Chaim as you are being judged and their wishes of Bracha help in shamayim. A true Tzaddik really cares almost like a parent about all those who come to him and their wishes for Mazel and Bracha have a tremendous Koach in Shamayim to help with the Din against you, or their tefillos might help ease a nisayon you are facing. Obviously this is also the reason for saying Tehillim and all Tefillas. Hashem listens to our heartfelt wishes. We must assume that a Tzaddik might feel a deeper Kesher to shamayim then the average person and see the true tzelem Elokim in the people that he sees as well.

Now as to why you might ask on Purim is there an inyan for getting this Rov’s Bracha? We definetly have in our Mesora as well, that Tzadikim feel that we have certain kochos of Bracha on certain days and times throughout the year.(Adar is a Mazeldike month, or another example when a baby is crying by a Bris people gathered there are suppossed to daven for their needs as it is a zman of tefilla acceptance by Hashem).

May the young lady in question, find her bashert bito bizmano bikarov.Only Simchas

    ???? ????. That’s all I have to say.

    Enough witchcraft.

To all you people telling me to daven, who says I don’t? What if I’ve been davening for the last ten years of my life and at this point feel like I could use a boost?

If this makes me feel better, who are you to tell me not to do it? Is there something wrong or harmful with what I am looking to do?

Like I said earlier, I started this thread looking for help, not opinions.

I think so. I think you are selling out your relationship with Hashem for magic elixirs.
