Doe anyone know when raisin Challah is supposed to be used?
Is it Rosh hashanah? Simchas Torah? Purim?
Any clues?
I don’t know why anyone in this modern day and age still puts fake bugs in their bread.
Isn’t raisin challah for Rosh Hashanah?
The whole Tishrei
Lol RebYidd23!!! 🙂
Reb yid. If morons can still be using real keys in thier shlissel challah then why not use fake bugs on rosh hashana
I don’t know anyone who uses real keys.
If you make a shlissel challah with a fake key, you get fake rich.
I don’t like to take any chances.
The fake bugs have real bugs in them. Some bakeries use currants instead.
Kcl (kosher council of lakewood) claims thier fake bug raisins are 100% bugless. Go figure. How exactly does one check small shriveled up raisins is beyond anyones imagination. But they take the achrayis.
DY, raisins have bugs but currants don’t?
Anybody know the origin of the custom of putting raisins in challah? Is it just because they’re sweet, or is there some other reason?
Why don’t they substitute raisins with craisins?
