Why, yes. Thanks a lot for getting such a terrific (terror inspiring) thing started. It’s SO NICE to have a ‘positive charge’! That’s praise for you, OP. I have the entire CR ‘chevra’ to thank and praise for their warm welcome/embrace and patience to bear my rantings. I have a lost to thank and praise HaShem for, but that belongs in a different thread. (unless we let this one change direction)

I’d like to thank a friend of mine for giving me an evening of almost non-stop laughs… reminiscing about our days in yeshiva in Israel in 1976. she came in from the Midwest for a wedding & this was the 2nd time I’d seen her (the last time was 20+ yrs. ago) since our Har Tzion days.

Any ideas? I hate tea. Slept with steam vaporizer all night, didn’t help. Don’t believe in chicken soup. I’m up to my second box of tissues…and counting….and I hate having a nasal voice.

That didn’t sound like a very “praisy” post, did it? Sorry. I’m just really really miserable.

I would like to thank my father z”l who, though living in an environment where most Jews didn’t know what it means to be a Jew, or to have a strong Jewish identity, DID know, and taught it to me.

No. Mine is just augmented by the NEED to be normally functioning, & all around. Plopping is not an option for me, how inviting my bed looks. If you’re able to, DON’T be foolish like me. Stay in bed! Refuah Shleima. I think mine’s letting up, maybe.

A mamin, you took the words out of my keyboard!!!! My mother O”H would have turned 84 this Sunday, were she still with us, and my Dad O”H’s birthday would have been on Purim. They both are gone 17 years. As much hakoras hatov as I had to them when they were alive, it was not even slightly proportionate to the good they did for me all my life, and which I first truly recognized when I became a parent.

I came here to give some random praise but it looks like this has been a hakoras hatov thread. Sorry if I sound out of place but I wanted to praise observanteen for who she(?) seems to be based on her mature and empathetic posts. You sound like a wonderful person.

And as far as my mother a”h and my father a”h, I just second what oomis said. It would make me too sad to write my own now.

mytake – what do mom’s do? One Purim I was 9 days overdue and had bronchitis and 101 fever. I think what I did was entertain 5 little kids and dress them for purim while my husband went to shul for shacharis and magilla.
