A pcr test is required within 72 hours of departure, or a rapid test within 24 hours. I have a flight in a few weeks on motzei shabbos. If my pcr results don’t come in time, I’ll need a rapid test.
The problem is, where can I get a rapid test on a Saturday? It has to be from a medical clinic, not from a kit.
Are there any frum doctors in Brooklyn or Queens doing tests on a motzei shabbos?

January 12, 2022 10:41 pm at 10:41 pm #2050852Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantI think there are home tests that are administered via remote support and produce an official result.

Aaq, how can I find one of those?

Jewish Urgent cares in Boro Park and Williamsburg are open Saturday night and even Friday night.January 13, 2022 9:23 am at 9:23 am #2050943GadolhadorahParticipant“Are there any frum doctors in Brooklyn or Queens doing tests on a motzei shabbos?”
The immigration authorities do NOT require a test from a FRUM doctor or nurse. If you can find a qualified galach administering the tests, thats fine. They don’t care about the hashkafah of the testing firm. There are also 24 hour tests being offered now at JFK and the urgent care near the Belt Parkway by the JFK entrance.
January 13, 2022 12:32 pm at 12:32 pm #2050975midwesternerParticipantThey do not require a Frum doctor. But good luck trying to get any other kind to open up on Motzoei Shabbos.

January 13, 2022 8:54 pm at 8:54 pm #2051169mommamia22ParticipantCare Cube in Brooklyn does a rapid pcr-results within 10 hours. Technicians on site, doctor consulted via phone. Thursday test/ Friday results.
January 13, 2022 8:58 pm at 8:58 pm #2051173Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantYes, I meant emed tests, but it seems that Israeli rules require professional sampler. Check with pharmacies if they do it in there. Even if they do, everyone seems to be out of tests right now. Hopefully will be better in a couple of weeks.
Also, check maybe some companies run such services in the airport?
January 13, 2022 9:33 pm at 9:33 pm #2051194jews4bidenParticipantCVS does tests, i don’t know when they’re open. Schedule online. The Other option if you want to pay a lot of money, a lot of labs do covid tests, pcr or rapid, with results within the hour for both types, but I’ve only done that during the day, they are probably closed at night. However, if you are stuck, maybe do a pcr there on friday, so you have it for sure. I live in an out of town city it costs about $100 for a rapid $200 for a pcr. Note, many times these labs are the same labs that do drug tests, etc. If you know a lab like that, i’d call up and ask if they offer covid test.
