Tonite is already the 12th Johrzeit of the Legendary Godol haDor:- Rav Avigdor Miller ZTKLLH’H. Not a single day ever goes by, when he isn’t mentioned & talked about. It is hard to beleive that we were Zochim to bask in his presence/radiance for so many years.

1 question came up extensively shortly after his passing away:- What would Rav Avigdor Miller have had to say about 9/11? He just missed it by a mere 5 months. Then again, it is a known fact, that Tzadikim are taken away before a major Puroniyos.

Anyone who would have been born on this awful day of his Petiroh, is being Bas-Mitzwah today.

I used the Rav Miller Hagada by the Seder. One of the things he says is that the reason the Torah doesn’t allow a woman to give a divorce is because otherwise women would be too quick to divorce. Whereas men are more deliberative.

Rav Avigdor Miller ZT”L had an extraordinarily clear perspective on life that is extremely difficult to summarize, so read his English Seforim (such as Sing, You Righteous, Awake My Glory, The Universe Testifies and many, many others)! They changed my life, they may very change yours!

He was often observed standing next to a full sink for several minutes with his head submerged. When he could hold his breath for any longer, he would burst to the surface, take several deep breaths, and then thank Hashem for giving us air! He wanted to experience how life is impossible without air, and what a great gift it is.

That was the ikkar of his teachings, to understand that everything we have is an absolute Chesed, that we deserve none of it, and yet Hashem gives it to us! We should feel such gratitude!

In his memory, the Rav Avigdor Miller Simchas HaChaim Foundation spreads his teachings to this day.

Why would woman be too quick to divorce?

Because they are married to men.

14 years and we miss & relish our revered & beloved Godol haDor more than ever.

What Nachas Ruach would be dispatched to our Manhig in Gan Eden, if we listen to his tapes on this 14th Johrzeit.
