Is anyone familiar with Rav Yaakov Drillman’s Yeshiva?
Yes. It’s located in the heart of Flatbush. Rav Mordechai Joffen and Rav Yankel Drillman are the leaders of the yeshiva, officially known as Yeshivas Bais Yosef Novardok. It’s a mixture of guys, but many of the guys who I know who learn there have learned in places like the Mir in Israel. It’s not quite Lakewood, but there are many solid guys who either learn long-term or who eventually go to college and/or work. It’s a growing yeshiva, as I believe they recently unveiled plans to expand enormously.
Based upon personal knowledge ,the caliber of the boys at the yeshiva has risen dramatically in the last few years .There are top notch kollel yungerleit and both of the roshie yeshiva are known iluyim.Rabbi drillman’s shiur is really for top boys. There is an excellent shiur for younger bocherim as well.
Does anyone know any update about this Yeshiva?
Has it changed in any way?
How is it perceived in general?
As an aside, I have heard the boys there are more intellectual and deep – is that correct?!
From what I met , there are unique and very intelligent yungerliet there. Bochurim too. But it is not a requirement. They leave you alone, you can think what you want or not at all. Rabbi Drillman and Rabbi Feldman moved to Lakewood. I think Rabbi Drillman commutes for the week.
