Recently there has been a new movement to go to Reb Shayala’s brother kever in Staten Island, I never heard of going to a brothers kever instead of going to his kever, just wondering if someone could help fill in the blanks.

You can go to the kever of the Chofetz Chaim’s Rebbetzin in Queens as well.

I think you have the blank space and are looking for the solid part. The dead have no connection to their own graves. It is for the living. So, it’s possible to achieve the save sentiment by any other ritual.

There is a paid ad running on the news site for some organization associated with Reb Shayala’s tziyun, collecting virtual kvitlach, etc. Are they are legit??

It shouldn’t fall within the purview of common sechel to ask ignorant people question. I would suggest that you ask someone who you know actually knows the answer to your question, so that you can take what he says seriously.

“It shouldn’t fall within the purview of common sechel to ask ignorant people questions”

Actually, I found your comment rather ignorant since the level of knowledge here in the CR is a lot higher than most discussion boards and individuals here oftern have a considerably higher level of knowledge on rather arcane subject areas than your typical LRP.

Having said that, for those who may be a bit skeptical of the whole inyan of davening at kivrei tzadikim to obtain a segulah, than davening at the kever of some relative of that tzadik would seem especially bizarre, unless that relative has his/her own special yichus.

There’s some legend that R Shayala told some of his people who were going to America that if they wanted someone to connect to, they should go see his brother. Whatever.

Who do YOU think has a bigger chance of their tefillos being answered directly from Hashem? Go to a Gadol Hador for a Bracha for Children or a Shidduch etc … or go to the corner of your house and call out directly to Hashem? Your right He’s a big Gadol Hador and there’s a famous line called “צדיק גוזר ה מקיים” but the pro of YOU going directly to Hashem is WAY more powerful. What’s the message? Stop depending on Rebbe’s, segulahs, doctor’s & Lawyers and turn directly to Hashem for help as we say in bentching from Tehillim “ודורשי ה לא יחסרו כל טוב” i.e. for one who seeks out Hashem directly lacks nothing that is good.

Nah. The best chance is to go to an online site, and call out to random people that they should call out to hashem. How could anybody not see that???????/!@#$%^&?

    @sam klein,
we are not talking about the Rebbe, we are talking about the Rebbe’s brother.
I guess reading comprehension was not your strong point in school.

    Sam,

Where do you get the audacity to compare tzaddikim (I assume that’s what you mean by Rebbe’s) to doctors and lawyers (r”l)?

The ideas that you mock are sourced throughout all areas of Torah.

P.S. For a beautiful explanation on the concept of asking tzaddikim for brochos, see the Chasam Sofer (among countless others) שו”ת או”ח סי’ קסו

I know exactly who we’re talking about here and even pass it on my way to Brooklyn when I travel but do you think I ever stopped by there even for 5 minutes when it’s more powerful to go directly to the source our loving father Hashem the king of kings ruler of the world for help and is waiting to help out his loving children klal yisroel as soon as we call out WHOLEHEARTEDLY for help in any kind of help a person needs. From Shidduchim to parnassa to health etc ….

And that’s the serious issue we’re missing in today’s generation sadly the “tzipisa lyeshua ” the TRUE YEARNING FOR MASHIACH TO COME. Sure we’re davening for Mashiach and mourning with fasting on Tisha Bav for the Bais Hamikdosh but are we really YEARNING FOR MASHIACH TO COME ALREADY???? we all know the honest and sad truth that we’re so happy in golus. We have all our physical pleasures and needs taken care of by Hashem from planes to cars and computers and living in the generation of technology and the Electric Tesla car…… When we HONESTLY start to Yearn for the coming of Mashiach then Hashem will send Mashiach immediately. If we were seriously mourning for the Bais Hamikdosh on Tisha Bav then we wouldn’t be looking at our clocks for Chatzos so we can go back to sitting on a couch but actually it would be the opposite where we would say to Hashem I’ll fast an entire extra day-not from now Chatzos but from tonight when Tisha Bav is over-all I ask is that Hashem please send Mashiach and rebuild the Bais Hamikdosh bkarov. Is this honestly how we’re davening and feeling on Tisha Bav??? May we all wake ourselves up from living in denial and FACE REALITY and start to beg Hashem for Mashiach already bkarov WHOLEHEARTEDLY

Thanks for your resources to look up in the Sefer.
But your mistaken to think I compare doctors and lawyers to Tzaddikim. They were all mentioned together as examples of people we turn to for help rather it’s physical health or spiritual help but in truth all the help is really coming directly from Hashem and there’s no need to run to a middleman agent between YOU and Hashem when you can turn Directly to Hashem wholeheartedly by yourself to get better answers to your needs that your davening for.

May Hashem always answer all your tefillos for anything you need when you call out directly to Hashem WHOLEHEARTEDLY our loving father and king of kings ruler of the entire world.

Just wondering how far does family relationship extend? The two visnitzer rebbes? [monsey and BB],
Uncles and nephews? [Klausenberger and Satmar, Lubavitch and Barry Gurary] Cousins?

In klal yisroel we are all related to each other. Its just a matter of how. From which side of your family and how many generations back.

Love all your brothers and sisters in klal yisroel

    Gadol,

    Opinions are not knowledge.
A smattering of ideas, combined with an inflated sense of one’s own wisdom, a mouthpiece and platform. That the CR profile.

Saying “the level of knowledge here in the CR is a lot higher than most discussion boards” is true. But it means nothing compared to genuine knowledge, earned through years of relentless , self-effacing study and hard work. It’s always worth asking someone who is busy learning and has no time for the Coffee Room, and for those that think they know more and better.

I’ll Leave the bathroom now and return my work phone to it’s charging dock, and go back to the Beis Medrash.

Sam your post reminded me of the recent chof ches Nisan asifa/ farbrengen. All the farbrengens I’ve attended have been led by Chabad people, and this time the speaker list included people who were clearly not Chava as well. I was a bit skeptical but also curious and I listened and I was blown away. The best speaker with the most powerful message for me on the topic of moshiach (since most of the others weren’t new) was Charlie Harari. He gave a mashal with a very powerful punch for the nimshal but the point was are we gonna allow ourselves to be content with the yetzer hara offering us security and a plane ticket to EY, and some money?

We’re so close! But do we want a better golus or actual geula? The others were really amazing as well but I found his presentation had a punch to it. Really great

The claim is someone was planning on going to Keristier. Then he had a dream, R’ Shayale Ketistirer came to him and said, why do you have to come all the way here? You have my brother right there.

I do not understand why people would believe the dream means anything. No one else going had that dream.
