Who ruled the House when there were recessions?

Who ruled the House when the economy was doing great?

Hashem rules the entire world and every level of kingship and government in between. All the politicians and rulers and kings are simply Hashems middlemen actors and agents of Hashem. Dont fool yourself and start to open your eyes and see Hashem clearly running the world 24-7

The economy up until now has been good but there are signs that we are heading into a recession. Is there going to be a recession in 2020? Only Hashem knows. Once the house goes for Impeachment Procedures it will be very difficult to pass any legislation to help the economy. It will be a blame game and the voters will decide who is at fault as it’s an election year.

    Sam,

And therefore it can’t be someone’s fault?

Hashem can put someone in power that has bad policies but it’s still their fault (ie Nero)

    1. The last recessionwas caused by the Democrats encouraging banks to make sub-prime loans, not that the Republicans not the banks objected.

    2. The current slowdown is connected with the disruption on world trade caused by the Americans with great help from the British and the Chinese. Whether the disruption of world trade is a bad thing is yet to be seen. According to standard economic theory trade is good and helps all, but many are skeptical (particularly American workers who have trouble competing with low wage countries), and as of late, conventional economic theory has been very good at predicting or explaining economic behavior.

A well know mekubal told me last night that:

    1. The Ebeshter has assured him that the cost of all the tariffs imposed on imported products from China used by yidden are being paid for by the Chinese and not his yiddim.
    2. Any new recession will only hurt the goyim and yidden will continue to have much hatzlacha and be exempted from any adverse economic effects of a global downturn.
Unfortunately, that Mekubal charged me more for sharing his nevuah with me than I had gained from the Trumpkopf’s tax bill and stock market upturn so overall, its been a net loss for me.

This Post comes directly from Trump himself.

Anything that happens while I am President that is good , I will take credit for.
Anything that happens while I am President that is bad , I will place the blame on everybody else.

He is a man incapable of taking real responsibility.

jackk: Finally PROOF the Trump has finally learned how to be a politician, in the fine tradition of all the other politicians that have led the republic for the last 200+ years. He really is turning NORMAL (unfortunately).

    Jackk,

I know you really meant Obama, that blamed everything on bush. It was probably your autocorrect that changed it to trump

    coffee addict,

When you stop mentioning Obama to defend Trump , reality will hit you.

    akuperma ,

That is not the tradition of all Presidents.

Trump and his administration is saying that it is all fake news. No recession. No crisis.

Read W’s memoir for his admission to mistakes in Katrina, Mission Accomplished and others.

Obama took responsibility for healthcare.gov failure and the BP spill failure and got them resolved and fixed.
He took responsibility for Democrats losing the house and the Benghazi attack.

He took the Financial meltdown that he was handed by Bush and turned it completely around.

Trump is going to leave the Democrats to fix his financial failures while he is partying in Mar O Largo on his yacht.

In order to arrive to the truth in learning you have to listen to opposite views as the Beis Hilel listened to the Beis Shamai first because of their humility. Trump fires his adversaries, so he ends up with tunnel vision. Rebbi Yochanan missed Rash Lokish because he asked kashyes on his statement which created רווחא דשמעתתא expansion of our understanding.

    Coffee Addict,

On Healthcare.gov – “Ultimately, the buck stops with me,” he said. “You know, I’m the president. This is my team. If it’s not working, it’s my job to get it fixed.” And he got it fixed.
On his promise to Americans that they could keep their current plan. “I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation, based on assurances they got from me,” he said.
On the BP Oil spill – read this. sorry,  link removed. And he got it fixed.
On the shellacking in 2010 “Over the last two years, we’ve made progress. But, clearly, too many Americans haven’t felt that progress yet, and they told us that yesterday. And as President, I take responsibility for that.”

Were you listening to Obama speak when he was President?

The trade war is entirely Trump’s. Unfortunately some Democrats including Elizabeth Warren support trade wars. Bernie Sanders does, too, but he is not a Democrat.

    Charliehall,
As the owner of a business that manufactures and imports products from China I can tell that you really get your economic new from NYT and liberal econ profs who have been wrong again and again and again i.e Paul Krugman the economic genius of the NYT when Trump became president.

    However facts are stubborn things.

Personally i actually suffer from the current trade war, my prices have gone up and not all of them can be passed on to the consumer.

However the facts are that the current trade imbalance with China has contributed to vast economic devastation in the USA there are whole industries that have virtually dissipated and moved to China and along with them are entire towns that have become virtual ghost towns.

Aside from that the rampant intellectual theft by China has caused tens of billions of dollars in losses to US business.

So while i personally may be negatively affected by it, I recognize that the President must do what is best for the country as a whole.

Now granted China has not singularly destroyed all of the manufacturing sector, the unions who forced up wages and irresponsible jobs laws have contribution as well.

However the Democrats simply did not care since there base is not comprised of white people out of work.
Nor quite frankly did the country club Republicans who made their money in the finance sector which actually helped finance the current disaster,

However Trump actually ran business that built things and produced products. He saw and understood what China had done to the working class and actually has put himself at risk to fix it.

But the Dems really do not care about anyone but their base.

If they did why not pass the current trade deal with Mexico & Canada that all are in agreement is vastly better then what NAFTA and the Dems are holding up.

The answer is the Dems really care nothing for America it’s all about destroying Trump and if they need a recession to do so be it.

Our president does not realize that the stock market is affected by perception. He should be quiet and not blame the fed chair for his doing.

The close to one trillion yearly deficit through the tax cut mainly for the rich does not help the economy.

Not only the stock market but the whole economy, investment, consumption and government spending is based on perceptiion.

Reb Eliezer here are certain stats
In 2016 97% of US income taxes were paid by 50% of taxpayers.
The bottom 50% percent paid just 3%
    Lets dig deeper
the share paid by the op 1% was greater then the bottom 90% combined!

So yes considering the fact that the wealthy are paying virtually all the taxes if you cut them they are going to benefit.

    You know who else benefits?
The tens of thousands of US workers who then got bonuses explicitly tied to the tax cut.

The out of work workers who then had job opportunities as the economy finally took off after 8 years of being promised it would be “next year”

You see it’s the wealthy who create jobs and hire people, giving them more money gives them the capitol to do more of that.

    Reb eliezer,

We’re the poor richer by obama’s Stimulus bill?

    Obviously not

The stimulus bill and the tax cut are supposed to help the working middle class (or people looking for a job)

Raising the minimum wage has the same שקלט וטריא

I don Not beleive that is a serious question but here are some possibilities,

    a) HKBH decided they should be poor (see Chovos Halevovos Shaar Habitochon, so no matter what they do they will fail.

    b) They have ability but are simply lazy and ok with being poor as long as they can make ends meet.

    c) They are lazy and expect the government to help them.

    d) They went to school and received an education that was more about indoctrination then preparation for the workforce.

    e) They were trained in a field that changed leaving them flat-footed.

    f) They were factory workers whose jobs were outsourced.
    .
    g) They worked in an industry that was targeted by “activists” until they went bankrupt causing employees to lose their jobs i.e drug companies, weapons manufacturers.

    h) they lived in countries that feel for socialism promise causing work or pensions to dry up examples are Greece or Venezuela.

Of course there are many more possible answers to your query but that is a very very partial list which is the very real reason millions of people around the world are poor.

Ben Levi, The answer is Trump’s economy is good for the rich but not for the poor or middle class. Their income differentiation has becomie wider under Trump.

What does income differential or as it’s commonly termed “income inequality”” have to do with anything?

As a famous conservative commentator is wont to say I may be a millionaire, however if I move onto the the same block as Bill Gates my income inequality in terms of me vs him will explode.

But I am still doing really well.

In fact as a frum jew we should recognize the term “income inequality” for what it is.
The encouragement of pure jealousy of those that have more then me.

Because in every real statistic the lives of people in all strata has improved.

    Unemployment is down.
    Wage growth has increased.
    the growth rate is up.

In every way people are doing better under Trump.

    Those are the simple facts.

Are you saying the reason people don’t have a job is because they don’t have a skill

Personally I think it’s because they don’t want to work it’s a lot easier to get handouts than to work

There’s a reason more people have jobs and that’s because of trumps policies
