There is a city website regarding how the districts will be drawn up since there has just been a census.
Take a look and get involved.

Replace “Ny democrats” with POLITICIANS and it is universal. I live in CT and my town has just been redistricted into 4 State House of Representative districts all of which are held by multi term Republicans who can win reelection with out our town’s votes.November 19, 2021 1:13 pm at 1:13 pm #2030921commonsaychelParticipantThere is going to be a major shift in power in Rockland, Orange, Sullivan and Nassau in NY and Ocean County NJ towards the frum ppl with the major population growth much to certain CR members chagrin

Republicans have picked up on it as well (annoying the Democrats who thought they had patented the idea, and didn’t want to share). The only restriction is gerrymandering in order to keep Blacks (or at least, those Blacks whose ancestors were slaves in the antebellum period of American history) from getting elected. The alternative system would involve proportional representation (such as in Israel), which you never have your “own” legislator, and individual legislators ignore voters since staying in office is totally dependent on winning favor from party leaders (who write up the lists).
