Its clear that its no longer your father’s Oldsmobile (aka what we knew as the Republican Party). Whats not clear is whether the strategy is to actually have the party assume the name of its nominal leader so that a “RINO” becomes a “TINO”. After 5 years of the most cringeworthy and dysfunctional relationships between the legacy leadership of a political party and its self-annointed “new leader” the dwindling numbers of legacy leadership are the subject of scorn and ridicule from the defeated former president and his followers.
With a few noteworthy exceptions, for over four years, there was no act of obsequiousness too servile, no indignity too low for Republicans to willingly endure in their quest to prove their undying loyalty to Trump. Even those he rejects and humiliates by endorsing their primary opponents still retain that obsequiousness by pledging their fidelity to the man and his MAGA platform.
Perhaps its time to acknowledge reality and change the GOP to the GOT.February 17, 2022 12:45 pm at 12:45 pm #2061459ujmParticipantThe Republican Party is doing quite fine, thank you. They will soon be celebrating a great midterm victory.
On the other hand, the Democrat Party would be appropriately renamed to the Communist Party.

Hope you don’t admit you are an apologist for democrats in public, that would truly be embarrassing!
February 17, 2022 4:01 pm at 4:01 pm #2061537GadolhadorahParticipantLostspark: I’m actually quite comfortable with my own voice….in fact, i still have one given that so many have lost theirs….and of course, I’ve never criticized the Dems for their seeming inability to put forward some decent candidates nor shut down the crazies on their own fringes.
February 17, 2022 4:01 pm at 4:01 pm #2061534smerelParticipantI’m an independent voter who usually votes Republican as the lesser of the two evils and I’ll say enough of the Kool Aid. If you believe the Republican party should be renamed the Trump party then you must also believe that the Democratic should be renamed the BLM rioter party.
There are a lot more Republicans who are willing to stand up and criticize Trump than there are Democrats who are willing to criticize BLM rioters
February 17, 2022 4:02 pm at 4:02 pm #2061530GadolHadofiParticipantLet’s rename the Democrat Party:
It’s clear that it’s no longer your father’s Chevrolet (aka what we knew as the Democrat Party). What’s not clear is whether the strategy is to actually have the party assume the name of their ultimate goal of complete anarchy, so that a “DINO” becomes an “AINO”. After 3 years of the most cringe-worthy and dysfunctional relationships between the legacy leadership of a political party and its self-anointed “progressives” the dwindling numbers of legacy leadership are the subject of scorn and ridicule from the contemptible Squad and their rabid followers.
With a few noteworthy exceptions, for over three years, there was no act of obsequiousness too servile, no indignity too low for Democrats to willingly endure in their quest to prove their undying loyalty to promoting anarchy and lawlessness. Even those their “progressives” reject and humiliate by endorsing their primary opponents still retain that obsequiousness by pledging their fidelity to the vile Squad and their big-government, high-taxation, over-regulation, anti-business, Israel-hating, criminal-loving, anarchy-promoting platform.
Perhaps it’s time to acknowledge reality and change the DNC to the ANC. Especially since their ultimate goal is to do to the U.S. what the party of the same initials has done to South Africa.
February 17, 2022 4:33 pm at 4:33 pm #2061555moishekapoiehParticipantif trump becomes the nominee in 2024, we must create a new GOP -let’s call it GOP+ and leave trump behind on his behind
February 17, 2022 4:33 pm at 4:33 pm #2061554lowerourtuition11210Participantgadoilhadorah: “I’ve never criticized the Dems for their seeming inability to put forward some decent candidates nor shut down the crazies on their own fringes.” Oh so you want AOC and bernie sanders as the mouthpiece of you party.
February 17, 2022 5:11 pm at 5:11 pm #2061559GadolhadorahParticipantLower Tuition: Sorry my sarcasm went over your head. I’ve consistently bemoaned the inability of Dems in the past two election cycles to put forward any of their younger and more talented moderates as a national candidate instead of recycling the same tired geriatric names. Likewise, with a 5 vote majority in the House, they have a hard time “offending” their progressive wing, leaving them subject to legitimate criticism for not being unequivocal about some of the crazy stuff from AOC, Omar etc. on their far left (not unlike the House Republicans who are terrified to offend their Freedom Caucus crazies like MGT, Boebert, etc).

Typical condescension expected by a college educated democrat. The only people that have lost their voices are the populist Conservative party. If this fact is not apparent maybe stepping out of your ivory tower once in a while will help.
None of the many charges against Trump promoted by the CCP media mouthpieces have been true. You my friend have been duped.

February 20, 2022 8:29 am at 8:29 am #2062016jackkParticipantIf the republican party is doing fine, please tell us who do you want as the next nominee from the republican party for POTUS?
If your answer is Trump, then the republican party is not doing well at all.
February 20, 2022 3:59 pm at 3:59 pm #2062165Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipant> he did in fact make mean tweets
Actually, his tweets were short and to the point. It was an only twitter account I read regularly, it substituted for reading news. Now, it takes wading through long articles to find out what is happening in the country.
February 21, 2022 1:11 pm at 1:11 pm #2062562jackkParticipantAaq,
I am sure you know that POTUS and the Whitehouse both have very active twitter accounts.February 21, 2022 2:30 pm at 2:30 pm #2062580GadolhadorahParticipant“[Trump’s] was the only twitter account I read regularly, it substituted for reading news….
AAQ: That explains a lot. You could of told us that several years ago and probably saved dozens of responses
February 21, 2022 2:47 pm at 2:47 pm #2062601Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantjackk, Twitter: Obama has 131 mln followers (potus44 – 14), Trump had 90 (potus45 – 32), Biden 30 (of which 24 before Presidency, Potus 18). I am not subscribed to any of them, I am just looking up occasionally as a webpage. Interesting, that Trump was of more relative interest as a Potus, while Obama as a person. Biden seems was most of interest as a candidate.
Biden’s latest post is 3 days ago (long weekend, staffers not working, I guess) on high-speed internet. On Russia – Feb 18. Not a source of news.
Gadol, I was not using it to form my opinions for which as you suggest the best places is primary sources, but just to see the issues of the day. Most of other press was re-posting his tweets cloaking them in a commentary and opinion, so it took time to read thru it to find out what actually happened.
February 21, 2022 4:22 pm at 4:22 pm #2062623jackkParticipantAAQ ,
You got your ‘news’ on the issues of the day from Trump’s tweets ? He did not use his tweets to inform on issues.
Number of current Trump twitter followers = 0. What a feat! He went from 90 million to 0. Loser.February 21, 2022 4:33 pm at 4:33 pm #2062630charliehallParticipant“so you want AOC and bernie sanders ”
Sanders is not and has never been a Democrat.

February 21, 2022 4:34 pm at 4:34 pm #2062629charliehallParticipant“Let’s rename the Democrat Party”
There is no “Democrat Party” In the United States.
February 21, 2022 4:53 pm at 4:53 pm #2062634charliehallParticipantTrump was the firat President since Herbert Hoover to lose his party the White House, the House of Representatives, and the Senate during his term. Yes, he is definitely a loser.
And we all should thank HaShem that he is not the President trying to deal with the current Ukraine crisis today. Biden may or may not be able to save Ukraine, but he isn’t going to be doing anything stupid and he isn’t going to be kowtowing to Putin the way Trump repeatedly did.
February 21, 2022 4:55 pm at 4:55 pm #2062637GadolhadorahParticipantThe Republican party has also become one of the marketing arms of the Trump Social Media and Chotchkas Group…..I’ve been getting messages begging me to buy “Save America” coffee mugs and baseball hats and just got the first “Urgent Alert” to sign up on the waiting list for the Trumpkopf’s new “Truth” social media site (where you are linked to the “My Pillow Guy’s” website offering $249 dog beds for only $39. These pleas come with threats that if you don’t respond, we are “taking names” and letting President Trump know that you don’t “stand with him”. This would be funny if it wasn’t real.
February 21, 2022 5:32 pm at 5:32 pm #2062649LostsparkParticipant“ And we all should thank HaShem that he is not the President trying to deal with the current Ukraine crisis today”
You can’t possibly believe the words you are typing.
Guess what it has been established the Russia conspiracy was a hoax. Yashar Koach buddy!! You were probably too busy studying to keep up with the news!
February 21, 2022 8:53 pm at 8:53 pm #2062688MarxistParticipant“Sanders is not and has never been a Democrat.”
While that is technically true, it is misleading. He ran to be the Democratic nominee for President in both 2016 and 2020. He caucuses with Democrats in Congress and is generally viewed as the main figure of the left-wing faction of the party.
February 21, 2022 11:50 pm at 11:50 pm #2062713Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantGadol, you can’t be serious about Ukraine. First thing Biden declared was – we are surely not going to send soldiers. First thing Trump did when Russian contractors moved towards US base in Syria – bombed them. Trump also supported Eastern European countries in their armament, posting US troops there, and blocking Nord Stream2 that Biden immediately rescinded.
(To be fair, I don’t think Trump issued the command, he simply put capable people in charge, and delegated this decision to Pentagon; Pentagon delegated that decision to the local commander, who did what he needed to do).
February 23, 2022 4:45 pm at 4:45 pm #2063331GadolHadofiParticipantCharlie,
“There is no “Democrat Party” In the United States.”
Correct; “Democrat Party” is a pejorative and also evokes “rat”, a more accurate description for these vile anarchy lovers than calling them “Democratic”, which they aren’t.
