Is there anything halachicly wrong with reselling (on eBay or wherever) something that someone advertised as a free (ltoeles rabim) giveaway, that you responded to and took?

If you got something for free, then you don’t want it, it’s yours to do whatever you want, including selling it

It might, however be different in this specific type of situation because the free item was meant to be given freely to ALL. The inention of the giver might make a difference. I don’t really know. Good ethical question.
February 24, 2011 3:44 am at 3:44 am #744092canineMemberWould taking the freebie with the express intention of reselling it, affect its halachic permisiveness?
February 24, 2011 4:04 am at 4:04 am #744093☕️coffee addictParticipantwhy would it?
if the person giving away the freebie changes his mind to sell it he could, he chose not to

February 24, 2011 10:48 pm at 10:48 pm #744095☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIt might be ????? if it’s still available for free.
February 25, 2011 2:15 am at 2:15 am #744096guy-ochoMemberif it is meant to be free to all – such as phonebooks etc. – you should not selll it.
