Registration is free but if you want to accept a shidduch it costs money. There’s no way of knowing what’s available. You don’t get to make your own searches. Matchmakers do the searching and will try their best. I’ve never had any luck.
The shadchan fee is not an obligation. They only encourage you to give a shadchanus just like one would to any ‘regular’ shadchan.
They have people who run the whole gammut of observance levels. What you’re describing sounds like their category of ‘modern-machmir’, or something similar, which the site definitely caters to also.Hatzlocha.

Hashem knows what is best. SYAS was not working for me after a 2 years of being a member. It may work for modern-leaning people who prefer w matchmaker. It is not psychologically healthy for a man to constantly be seeking women.
