I have a Segulah that I just thought of that I think would work. I am no Rabbi so I cant guarantee, but I am pretty sure this would have a HUGE effect in Shomayim.
Anyone who has a specific problem and needs a Yeshuah and was planning on watching the superbowl. Especially if you were really looking forward to it, are invited to a superbowl party….instead of wasting time watching the superbowl, go to a shul take a Tehillim and say it with kavanah from cover to cover. Use a Tehillim with a translation so u know what you are saying. The power of Tehillim when one knows what they are saying is much greater than without knowing the meaning of the words. If theres time afterwards, take a sefer and learn. Use the entire time you would have spent on watching the game in a shul (or even in your house if you cant go to a shul) on Tefillah and Torah.
Ask Hashem that the mesiras nefesh that you are doing in not watching the game should be a zchus for you and that your heartfelt Tehillim should make a roishum in shomayim so that whatever it is you are Davening for should be granted.
or better still:- Partake in the Tehillim phonathon for that Bochur in Japan.

We don’t invent our own Segulos. There are ways to gain Zechusim. “Almost guaranteeing” a Segulah to work with no Halachic source is an Issur D’Oraisa of Darchei Haemori.
WIY: So say that you feel that this will be a great Z’chus. Calling it a Segulah and guaranteeing or almost guaranteeing it to work for what you want is superstition and Assur.

I.M.H.O., Sefer Tehillim should be said regularly for its own sake. Of course specific chapters are meant to be said for Refuah, etc… And intentions aside, the mere recitation of Tehillim and pesukim may fall in the Geder of Limud Torah which is a constant mitzvah.
