If your school’s not helpful in giving guidance, think about where girls like you, with your goals, have gone the past few years. Start networking. The flavor of some sems change from year to year.

Now I assume you’re looking for E”Y, so I’ll get some chu”l options out of the way. They are very worthwhile if you’re thinking chu”l too: Detroit, Manchester, the “other” Gateshead sem, Montreal. I don’t know about NY options like the new one in Far Rockaway under Mrs. Feiner and other.

Off the top of my head, here are some Israeli sems: Chcohmas Lev, Peninim, Shoshanim, the half year sems (wonderful people affiliated with the sems, from the ads, probably more hashkafa oriented and concentrated)

BTW, if your grades are consistent (I mean you don’t roller coast but do the best you can on a regular basis) and you’re good and sincere, you should be able to find a sem. Hope you find good advice, advisors, etc.

    Popa is the seminary expert.

You should go to Hadar. It’s a perfect fit; you’ll love it.

(It’s also very close to the dining room.)

ok thx let me explain myself more.I am not someone who has boyfriends or really talks to guys but consider myself in between modern and yeshivish because im not really either.I go to a small out of town Bais yaakov school.I don’t do too well in hebrew academics especially with translating and fully understanding hebrew overall. I wouldnt mind learning but im very interested and hoping to do alot of traveling and touring in israel during seminary. As a result of my small school I was G.O head in 11th grade and mishmeres twice. I also attended camp sternberg for two years. I hope i gave a good explanation of myself and would apreciate help figuring out a seminary for myself because I really dont know too much about seminaries and which ones share my characteristics.

Do you want any of the following?

    Small or big seminary

    Warm

    Connection with teachers

    Relaxed

    Not stressful

Also – just to get a clear view of your hashkafa -Do you listen to not Jewish music? Do you watch movies?

Thanx for replying and im not too picky but i definately would prefer a smaller seminary since thats what im used to. As far as the other specifics yes i would prefer a connection with teachers and a rel;axed experience but who doesnt. I also definately would want a less stressful seminary. And although ive tried to explain myself i guess its difficult since you dont know me but yes i do listen to non jewish music and watch movies.

if your looking for a bais yaakov seminary, it sounds like peninim might be great for you. average sized, warm and friendly staff, great classes, and while it is called a bais yaakov seminary, it is “open minded” and not brainwashy. not particularly academic–there are amazing classes, but not loads of work. i think they have a website….

how about meohr or chachmas lev?

chochmas lev fits the most to what you’re saying. sounds like you could fit in meohr too but chochmas lev is like half the size and you said you preffered smaller. but i think other than that they’re pretty interchangeable. both very good by schools, not too yeshivish, and open minded to where the girls are coming from.

pet peeve – i thought pninim is considered a non bais yaakov seminary?

smile–hmmm, could be your right. i always thought it was. it could be now its borderline? don’t know. in any case, this is the link to their website: http://www.pninim.org/UntitledFrameset-28.html

correct me if im wrong, i thought me’ohr was more bais yaakov than chochmas lev?
