How long before we can use self-driving cars on Shabbos? The seems less problematic than the scooters.
What about a “tablet” computer that can accept commands just as a scooter accepts directions, which can help with learning and davening (on a special Shabbos, it would display all the special things of the day).
And if using electric devices on Shabbos is no longer a shailoh, why is it a problem to turn lights on or off?

Seems like the “frum” are already bending themselves into pretzels in relying on “technology” to enjoy all the benefits of a “conservative” lifestyle while claiming they are still living strictly in accordance with halacha.

Are you joking? Poskim will not allow the use of electricity in any form on shabbos.
akuperma: Do you turn on a television before Shabbos and leave it on the whole Shabbos so you can watch the game and whatever else interesting is running on Saturday.
Doing so is far far far “less problematic than” riding in self-driving cars on Shabbos.
The Reform started out by making changes that were technically not a clearcut or outright violation of halacha.
How is it different from shabbos elevators and all corresponding halachos?
