Hi, I’m just wondering if anyone would have any suggestions of good current shadchanim? We are looking for someone who is experienced with out-of-town, yeshivish shidduchim…
Yay! No responses!
Orelle: Perhaps consider the really novel idea of allowing the young man or woman who is looking for a kalah to do it the old-fashioned way and find their own bashert. There is no shidduch crisis so by definition, there is no shidduch crisis. If the candidate is from “chutz la’aretz” (aka anywhere outside NYC, Monsey or Lakewood), than let him/her spend an occasional Shabbos with friends/family in the NY metro area so they can do their own search or perhaps post an ad on one of the frum dating websites.
There are a whole bunch. The question I have for you is what do you mean by “yeshivish”. I personally don’t consider myself yeshivish seeing how I listen to secular music (if it’s clean), and am open to the idea of watching a movie (but realistically who has time?). Others though do consider me yeshivish since I typically wear a white shirt every day, I learn even though I’m in med school, and haven’t missed a minyan in years.
Just a little more abt you would really help.
In any case I wish you much hatzlacha in the dating process, and even if you have a few not so great experiences don’t get discouraged.
