cshapiro- Sorry to barge in here but I thought I’d point out that the mitzva of shaloch manos is to give 2 servings of food not 2 types of food which is a wide held misunderstanding. So, if you give enough for 2 portions of waffles then you’re set!January 31, 2016 4:28 am at 4:28 am #1138326malei daas torahMember

Some people appreciate getting wholesome things they serve at a meal, like the Purim seuda (and I don’t mean for dessert).
For example, among those who have their seuda late in the day and are busy delivering and cooking in the morning, a non-junk food lunch for the kids is a welcome relief.February 16, 2016 4:31 am at 4:31 am #1138340malei daas torahMember
