Yes, the statement from Schumer is absolutely astounding. It is very disingenuous.

I suppose when you lie with dogs, you wake up with fleas.

J Street and the whole other crew of self-hating Jews are pushing Hagel through. G-d help us.

Whether Hagel is a monster is unclear. His views are typical of the Democratic party, and Chuck’s fearless leader did select him for a position for which he is clearly qualifed. And Schumer was recently relected on a platform of supporting Obama.

During Hagel’s 12 years in the Senate, Jewish communities from his home state of Nebraska were turned down when they wanted to meet with him. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, anti Semitism was rising in Russia. The senate drafted a letter to then Russian President, Boris Yeltsin, requesting him to reign in on anti-Semitism. The letter was signed by 99 senators, with only 1 exception: Chuck Hagel.

It’s clear that Schumer realizes that he has nothing to lose here, as the Jewish establishment will support him no matter what.

I’m reminded of the infamous words of James Baker, Secretary of State under George H. Bush, who, when discussing his administration’s anti-Israel policies said ” (explicit) the Jews. They didn’t vote for us anyway.”

Chuck Schumer and Obama now say the same thing in reverse ” (explicit) the Jews. They voted for us anyway.”
