What does everyone here think about this idea? There should be shifts for the mods. Sometimes hours go by when nothing is updated. There should always be somebody “on duty”. Anyone agree?
Gefen its not that we dont like your idea rather that it has been put forward several times already. (Great minds think alike etc. Or should I say Invei Hagefen V’invei hagefen…).
We cannot demand a mod on duty 24/6 when it is a voluntary service. From the timing of posts it is obvious there are for sure international mods.
A great idea muted by someone was for the guarantee of a mod on duty during peak times. Anybody give support to this idea? Lets hear it!!

Actually I really like it, but I don’t think the mods get paid and I feel like since they’re already doing the modding, and I’m the one benefiting from their work I shouldn’t be the one to complain.
(I think there are mods in different time zones, or there used to be anyway, but maybe this is the big season for mod vacations.)

i think so too but we cannot pressure the mods- after all this is all volunteer work!
Add more volunteers.

In my post #3 I specifically said that it was someone else’s idea and I didnt remember whose. Kudos to you. I think its great. Even if the mods do not…!
I think that’s a great idea!! I live in Eretz Yisroel and would be happy to do the early morning or post-midnight shift (NY time).
ETA: For those who don’t know me, I’m a really old-time member!
Well there are some mods that are the same person and have 2 different shifts..

Don’t feel too bad; I’ve posted this idea before only to be met with resistance, that the mods are volunteers.
Who said volunteers in other fields don’t have shifts????
Tutors, hospital volunteers, tour guides, etc., have schedules. Volunteering and shifts are not mutually exclusive!
And this is said with deep appreciation for the mods’ work.

I’m a mashgiach in scottsdale, it pays well however I paid for it with a chopped finger
anonymisss from Eretz Yisroel volunteered above to mod while the American mods are shluffing. Why not take her up on her offer?
