I like going to ALDI as they really have the cheapest prices on a lot of grocery items. I recently was told that it’s a German company and the founder was a anti Semitic Nazi. A quick internet search revealed that is a German company but not much info about him being a Nazi. Does anyone know anything more about this?

These companies are the daughter companies of IG Farben who made the Zyklon B , “Gift Gas” that was used in Auschwitz

July 16, 2015 1:54 pm at 1:54 pm #1091800yehudayonaParticipantAldi also owns Trader Joe’s. I went to the Aldi at Gateway Mall in Brooklyn and was very disappointed. They have a tiny selection and very few items with any kind of hashgacha. Not too surprisingly, there were few customers. I’ve been to an Aldi upstate and it was a little better.
April 8, 2019 11:11 pm at 11:11 pm #1711844A Woman Outside BrooklynParticipantAldi’s does not own Trader Joe. The owners are cousins, and I’d guess the Aldi cousin is the poorer one. Anyway, Aldis now has a few stores (at least one I know of) in NYC. It’s real hit and miss insofar as kashrus. For example, they had a really tasty microwave popcorn in their Clancy line with an OU. Now I can rarely find the OU, apparently comes from a different plant. But decent produce, very good prices, strange brands that you’ll never see anywhere else.
