What does everyone here think of having an instant chat coffee room or chat room within yeshivah world? Could it happend?
Definitely not. There’s no way to moderate it before it posts.

bad bad bad idea. There is another “frum” or “jewish” chatroom that I joined stupidly and it brought me down so much, you could not even imagine. I think we should leave the cr the way it is!!
This is, just with moderation.
I’m assuming the OP’s intent is how do we get these moderated posts up QUICKER so that this could more palatable?
Perhaps a formal schedule of rotating moderators with more hours covered in real time?
Whose going to pay the mods? They’re all volunteers, and come when they have free time. Let’s appreciate that. I don’t think they can have a schedule to be here.
A solution I do see, is to add a bunch of new mods, from different geographic areas (NY, Midwest, West Coast, Israel, Europe, etc.) so it’ll be more likely someone will be here at different times.

No bad idea, not everyone plays nice in the sandbox.
About a year ago, the CR posts came up instantly like a chat room. It was very very no good. It lasted a couple of days until it changed.
Who says the mods are volunteers?

Please DO NOT share with us the name of that chat room. We have enoughost yetzer horas as it is. We don’t need any more temptations.

The only feature I wish they’d get in the CR is the option to vote on commentors comments. Like you could see the number of thumbs up or down. Or maybe not down, but at least you’d have the option of saying “Like” and that’d show others say all the members names who like that.

Yeah, and today I was thinking that we ought to take our cr and screen self names on over to facebook.
Everyone here would create an account under the user names they use in the CR. THen we could all share more.
I like this place the way it is. there are many other sites that offer the features that you are suggesting. this site is the way it is for a reason!!!!!
