Whether it’s right or wrong to take up public property, at least they should move in the chairs when not in use, and let the cars through!

October 23, 2011 3:36 pm at 3:36 pm #819343ZeesKiteParticipantNo. I’m writing about those Sukkas erected in front of shuls, forcing men women and children, carriages and strollers, bikes and skates out into the street.

Rav Yisrael many times was very meikel in halacha to be machmir in ben adam lachaveiro, for example would use minimum amt of water so the maid wouldn’t have to get more, which back then meant a whole long arduous trip to the well to carry a heavy bucket.

October 23, 2011 4:33 pm at 4:33 pm #819346lesschumrasParticipantDid the shul’s get a permit to block the sidewalks?
October 23, 2011 5:46 pm at 5:46 pm #819347ZeesKiteParticipantRebbe Dr., The one I’m referring to put up police barricades, then blocked that too! So we (men & women etc.) have to cross over from in between closely, jam-packed parked cars (due to unavailable space because of..), walk FAR into the path of startled drivers, then continuing on our merry way on terra firma.
Does one ‘bentch gomel’ once, or for every single crossing? (btw, I’m still B”H alive, as of this posting)
October 23, 2011 5:52 pm at 5:52 pm #819348yitayningwutParticipantYou’ll have to ask Popa that one.
