Do you snore? (As if a person knows if they do or not!). Does anyone in your family snore? Does it annoy you/keep you awake or are you a deep sleeper? Do you have any remedies or cures? Any stories, amusing or otherwise, about snoring?

I’ll start off with a funny story: In my dorm in yeshiva was a real bad snorer called Levi. He disturbed us badly. The guy who slept nearest to him would have to get out of bed and gently shake Levi to stop the snoring. One night instead of getting out bed, he clapped his hands loudly figuring that it would also disturb Levi’s uneasy sleep and stop his snoring – and it worked! So he did this every time. One day he and Levi had a row and began calling names. “YOU’RE STUPID AND YOU ALSO SNORE IN YOUR SLEEP!” he shouted. “THATS NOTHING” Levi replied, “YOU CLAP YOUR HANDS IN YOUR SLEEP!”

not amusing at all. people who snore do not usually have a satisfying sleep. could be because they are overweight, or a type of sleep apnea.

Some people who snore have a bigger problem. It needs to be checked out because it could be serious. It is called sleep apnea. A person who snores could be doing so because they actually are not getting enough air in their lungs because they stop breathing and gasp for air. They need to do a sleep study. If a person who snores is always tired and finds themselves always reaching for coffee to stay awake or always seems to be dozing off in the middle of the day, they should get a sleep study done. Seriously it could lead to other medical conditions.

For those who live with snorers it could lead to terrible conditions for them as well such as constant fatigue for lack of sleep, irritability, frustration, etc.

A Neti Pot which irrigates the Nostrils with tepid salt water could help the Snorer. How by keeping the Sinus cavity unobstructed, and getting more air in the Sinus Cavity to improve breathing. Another idea is by humming. Humming helps clear debris clogging the Nasal Cavity. This is another way to get air in the Sinus Cavity to help breathing. Which could also be beneficial for the Snorer.

I keep a fan on 365 nights a year, to drown out any annoying sounds. Sometimes it even works. I do not recommend this method when you have infants and small children, however. (And yes, I could hear a smoke alarm with the fan on).

Heh. Me too. Except that in my case, it’s because I like to have cool air blowing on me. I always prefer the room to be cooler than it actually is.

Yes, the Neilmed sinus rinse is AMAZING. it stopped my brother’s snoring once & for all (after several years of it!!)

butyou have to do it consistently once or twice daily..

works great at preventing sinus infections too.

buy it at walmart/target or ebay…
