Does anyone have any interesting stories about the Torah giant?
I’ve heard some really amazing ones, and was looking for more.
There is one story I’m trying to find out more info about is when a young Bochur was Laining, and made a mistake. Supposedly, Rav Friefeld then made a mistake when reciting the Bracha when getting an Aliya.
The story goes that he did this on purpose, to show the boy that even adults make mistakes.
Is this just a bubba maysa? Or is there any truth to this story?
There is a book on R’Freifeld, by Yisroel Besser (from Mishpacha magazine)
I was personally at a bris this past summer where this story was told over. It was a very emotional time for all of us that knew Rebbe (Reb Shlomo) z”l, as this was the essence of Rebbe. If you truly knew Rebbe, you would understand that this story is 100% true, which is why there was not a dry eye in the room when the story was told over by the bris.
That story is def. classic Reb Shloime,
The greater the person, the more they pay attention to the small details of another’s life.
