So I have been working as a cashier in a dollar store for the past 3 months, Friday I was on the morning shift with my asst manager Fran* who was doing her double ( working both 6 hour shifts ) we had a new employee George* who called in sick on his 3rd day and was thus fired, George was scheduled to be with Fran on her evening shift yesterday. When she realized she would be alone on the evening shift (company policy dictates that there must be two people to close the store) she was perturbed and asked if i could go home and come back for the evening shift I told her I could not.

She then called her boss Max* and told him the situation and she handed the phone to me and he asked me to switch shifts, again I said I could not work tonight. She then texted another employee to see if he could come in to work the night shift he did not respond ( I later learned his phone was dead ).

A little background Fran has been an extremely difficult person to deal with she has been abusive to employees and customers alike and is just an awful awful person. She was going to be fired very soon when the new store manager who is starting this week was coming in, she was very aware her time was almost over.

So back to Friday she was frustrated with the schedule problem and blamed the other asst manager and at about 1 pm she told me she had had enough and was quitting she told me to call Max and tell him that she quit, I called Max and he was as dumbfounded as I was, he asked if she was serious and she told me she was dead serious he said he would get back to me.

Fran then did her final deposit, had me search her bag and then handed me her ring of the store keys and walked out the door, Max called back and told me the other asst manager was on his way. Weird.
