Why am I able to still get them at every grocery store? Is it a ban only for food services industry or all nys residents to use for personal use?
Why does the local pizzeria and Heimishe groceries’ continue to offer hot coffee in these banned products?
Will it become impossible to get these items imported to New York?
……anyone? Cuz curious minds want to know!February 27, 2022 11:30 pm at 11:30 pm #2064658ujmParticipant
Crossing the street in middle of the block is, also, technically illegal. You’re supposed to walk 1,000 feet to the corner of the avenue, even if there’s no cars coming within eyesight.February 28, 2022 8:11 am at 8:11 am #2064707commonsaychelParticipant
25 MPH is the rule in NYC I have yet to see anyone doing 25 MPH at midnight.

As of January 1st, the law bans both the sale of styrofoam products as well as the use of such products in foodservice (with a few narrow exceptions for egg containers, etc.). The enforcement efforts for the first several months will be warnings followed by actual fines beginning later in the Spring.February 28, 2022 2:06 pm at 2:06 pm #2064807nishtdayngesheftParticipant
It seems the simple and correct answer is that they are banned for foodservice . Which is not home use.February 28, 2022 2:07 pm at 2:07 pm #2064823LostsparkParticipant

AAQ: You obviously haven’t been shopping lately, but neither medical or recreational cannabis would never, c’v, be sold in “plastic bags”. The retail outlets market their product in glass or lucite containers. I suspect the unregulated street product may be distributed in plastic bags but have no way of confirming.March 2, 2022 9:43 pm at 9:43 pm #2065756Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipant

To ujm: What is the difference between “technically illegal” and “illegal”?
And, fyi, the average city block (NYC, between streets) is 0.05% of a mile; 1000 feet is 0.19% of a mile. You are as factual as Fox News.March 3, 2022 1:34 pm at 1:34 pm #2065924nishtdayngesheftParticipant
FYI, nowhere did UJM mention NYC.
Even in NYC, walking from one avenue to the next is almost 1,000 feet. there are about 6 blocks to the mile.
You are perhaps as factual as CNN or MNBC or Nancy Pelosi.
