At what point do you throws the bread into the water during tashlich? And how much bread? And where does the minhag (with bread) come from? And what does it represent?
I never heard about such a minhag, its probably just to entertain the lil ones… (what makes me think its not a minhag is, since alot of people go on Rosh Hashana when feeding the fish is assur) Correct me if I’m wrong…
I don’t know all the answers but we throw the bread after saying the tefillos as a symbol that we’re throwing all our aveiros away.
It def was a minhag because the Mahril says not to feed the fish on yom tov meaning people did do it not on yom tov.
The ???? in Toras HaOlah 3:56 writes that you should throw the bread in the water.
Since it is only a minhag, it makes no difference how much bread you throw and when you throw it. It’s up to you.
Some people have the minhag to turn out their pockets to symbolicly show they are throwing out their avairos.
Emptying out your pockets from bread is done before Pesach.
mak; Efsher L’kayem Shneyhem!
I do that minhag!
