I know it sounds cheesy, but all the yeshiva bochurim in eretz yisroel need our help. Bochurim are already starting to be imprisoned in jail because of their refusal to join the army. A Lubavitcher bochur wasn’t even permitted to bring his rabbeinu tam tefilin into the prison.
I don’t want an event of klal yisroel talking about the evil of the state, because as much as it hurts me to say it, the state is still run by Jews and the people in the state may be saved one day. We have to Daven for the well being of the bochurim, and that the chillonim in the Israeli government get healed soon as well from their spiritual sickness. Our gedolai yisroel will continue to lead us, but we have to do our part as well. We have to increase Torah learning, tefilla, tehillim, and random acts of goodness and kindness in order to end these harsh decrees.
The bochurim will be free one day, but they need our help. I have taken on a hachlata that I will say 3 Perukim of tehillim every day after davening, something I had only started doing today. I’m a yeshiva student as well, and it bothers and hurts me that yeshiva bochurim are getting punished for protecting the Jewish people. Stay strong my friends. We will get through this with the help of Hashem
December 12, 2013 7:00 pm at 7:00 pm #994692WIYMemberAsifas should only be organized by the Gedolim. Its not our place to just make asifos without daas Torah. However I do think its nice that people should try to do a little something extra as a zechus for the situation.

December 12, 2013 9:44 pm at 9:44 pm #994694rationalfrummieMemberAre gedolim the only ones allowed to bring Yidden together and encourage them to do mitzvos??!! This is an excellent idea, Torah Lishma! Saying tehillim is so important right now since our holy brothers in eretz yisroel are not being allowed to learn Torah in peace and safety. All of us must unite, do teshuvah, and storm the heavens for rachamim from Hashem. The situation in Israel is unacceptable and these bochurim must return to the beis medrash. Kol hakovod, tl613!!
December 12, 2013 10:43 pm at 10:43 pm #994695ubiquitinParticipantdisagreeing with other’s call for Asifas should only be done by the Gedolim. Its not our place to just disagree without daas Torah.
December 18, 2013 4:58 pm at 4:58 pm #994696torahlishma613Participant@WiY- why would I have to ask the gedolim to arrange Jews to come together to say tehillim so we can save our bochurim? I should be able to arrange tehillim groups on my own. If I’m calling an Asifa for a negative cause or a questionable one, then I should have the guidance of gedolim. We can only hope and Daven that the bochurim are saved soon. It is amazing how they are being oppressed in a “Jewish” state for doing the right thing

You want to have a cute little gathering in your house it’s your business but making big public asifas requires daas Torah if you can’t understand that then you really need to speak to daas Torah.
December 19, 2013 5:27 am at 5:27 am #994701☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI mostly agree with WIY. Any large scale gathering, even if called an asifa for Tehillim, draws attention, and often comes across as a protest. The pros and cons of making such a public statement must be weighed carefully.
December 20, 2013 4:19 am at 4:19 am #994702torahlishma613ParticipantYou guys make it sound like only gedolim have daas torah and that regular yidden have no vhochma and therefore can’t make an asifa. Saying tehillim to save other Jews is a great cause. It brings us all together, and it is really powerful. Unfortunately, there’s politics and you’ll have some rabbis say to go, and some say to stay away which causes even more separation of the klal. We can’t afford to keep fighting . This is why moshiach isn’t here yet. If I wanted to make a tehillim asifa tomorrow, I’d do it. I want all the Jews together. We can save the bochurim, and save the secular Israelis also. It’s about saving the klal as a while. If the tzibur would think about other yidden and not just their own needs, I think it can do a lot of good and bring moshiach bimheira viyameinu.

I don’t know where to start so I’ll just sigh and maybe say some tehillim for you.
December 20, 2013 6:10 am at 6:10 am #994704☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantTorahlishma, you write that if you wanted to make a Tehillim asifa tomorrow, you’d do it.
Well, it’s clear that you want to, so I guess the only question is when and where.
