Does the child enjoy reading it, and will feel resentful if you take it away from her? What will stop her from reading it at a friends’ house? I know right now there are a lot of letters about BY girls not being able to ask questions, are you afraid that this will raise doubts in her mind about her school? If you have issues with this newspaper, then don’t bring it into the house at all. If it’s in the house, she will get a hold of it by hook or by crook. But my feeling is that if there are issues brought up in the readers write you can use that as an opening to discussing important issues with her, how she feels about it, instead of ossuring it which will be sure to make her want to read it even more.

My family thinks the readers write is pretty ridiculous, and don’t take the letters too seriously. Just my opinion.
