aries – yes and no. Sometimes therapists can really mess things up and people trust them because they’re the “professionals” whereas if they confide in a friend, (true that only one of 1000 know how to keep a secret, gemara) hopefully they have your best interest in mind and for better or for worse you don’t trust them as much as i would think you would trust a therapist, simply because of the lack of expertise.

Therefore, there should be a stigma for it! Therapists are the answer to have more freedom to do forbidden things (TV, movies, internet, etc.) while trying to prevent the destruction they cause! There are times therapists are needed but it is way over used! Another thing, adding vinegar to the best wines will ruin it no matter how much you paid for it! So to, taking goishe psychology courses will affect your hashkofos no matter how big a talmid chochom you are!”

However I personally tend to agree with that one as well. Yes there is a place for therepy but for the most part it’s Kefira.
Take a look at the small Kuntrus of Letters from Rav Shlomo Wolbe zt”l that came out on his sheloshim. Rav Wolbe writes that the milchoma of our generation is to push pshycology from our camp. According to Rav Wolbe zt”l much of the root of psychology is Kefira.
And Rav Wolbe studied psychology.
