gosh, ashreinu, i have never missed sternberg as much as i do right now… thanks for sharing what a REAL camp should be teaching!
From what I’ve heard about Sternberg, it is like no other 😛
Oh I loved Sternberg! I was there for 8 years as a camper. It truly is amazing.
About the English Muffins, when my daughter was in Gateshead, the rabbi there had no clue what English muffins were. If they have them in England, the Brits call them something else.
Camp also seemed have changed A LOT from my days! I learned how to pick locks with bobby pins. I learned a lot of silly songs (including the Black Socks one). In high school, we sang about a Boa Constrictor. Love that one!
And the best part of those camp years? Seeing Rabbi Sacks dance on the table at shalesh sudos. 30+ years later, I still think of that scene.
im sure ppl are gonna have new stuff to add here as them return home now
They’d better! This is such a cute thread, I hope peeps will have more to share!
1) Boil spaggheti in the kettle
2) We had a shaila once – guys used to put pizza in the dryer to warm up. One day a boy put in his schnitzels – the schnitzel is probably assur but if we run another dry empty, can we use it again for milchigs or fleishigs?
