the zeide R’ zushe, together with his hailige bruder, R; Elimelech were travelling in golus.

They came to a town and sought accomodation by a fabulously wealthy man, who refused them

Many many years when they were nisparsem, they came to the same town. The baalei batim had arranged for them to stay by this very same g’vir

The zeide told his brother, let’s alight from our carriage and walk to the shul. R’ Elimelech agreed and they sent the carriage with the driver and horses and all their baggage along to the home of the g’vir, whle they went to shul. They remained there for many hours.

As it became darker and darker the g’vir was unsure what to do. He was wooried about his guests yet he was reluctant to question the hailige zaide and his brother. Eventually with no choice he took a lamp and went wlaking through the dirty dark muddy streets to the shul. He found them preparing their coats upon their benches to sleep, with water aranged alongside for negel wasser.

The host couldn’t contain his amazement, and asked what on earth was going on.

The hailige zaide told him “When we came just ourselves you refused to host us. now we came with gilded carriages, suitcases and an oreil a baal agala. Surely it them you wish to host. so leave us in peace, and host the horses and suitcases.

My father had a favorite saying in yiddish, ob es ist bashert tzu tantzen, tantz man, when it is fated to dance, one dances. It is based on a story where the brothers spent over night in a motel. Their room was located next to the bar. A drunken soldier, being in a good mood, picked one of them up from the bed and started to dance with him. He periodically would do this. Eventually he had enough and he told his brother to change places, figuring that as he was dancing with him, he will continue dancing but now with his brother. When the soldier came back, he said, I danced enough with you so I will dance with him. He ended up dancing with the same brother, so he said the above saying.

I am also an ainikel of the Rebbe Reb Zusha. Not a worthwhile ainikel, but an ainikel nevertheless.

It is not the same to be a tzadik ben tzadik where one has to work hard to live up to it and then he has double zechusim. The Mayanei shel Torah brings the Rebbi Meir from Premislan who says זה א-לי ואנוהו if a person recognizes his own G-d is beautiful but yichus G-d of my father might bring to gaive, haughtiness.

The point of the zaide zatzal was that the SUV is not maileh or moirid

    It’s the person

If on eis not machshiv the person when he is by himself

then don’t be machshiv the SUV either

If the gavra is really worth while thne it is a different stroy

R’ Chayim’s SUV was forwarded to R’ Moshe Shternbuch

    Sorry

I live here in E”Y and don’t know much about cars. Private cars don’t really exist

Whichever car he had, which i assume was nice, has been transferred to R’ Moshe Sternbuch.

I assume neither R’ Chayim nor R’ moshe knew the make of the car.

common, I don’t think litvishe T’Ch in Israel are into car status, nor were they in Lita. Vilna Gaon was not spending much on gas (or barley), would make GH happy.
