“Mancala” is actually the name of the game mechanism of picking up
a group of pieces and dropping them off one-by-one along a path.
There have been many such games.
(The actual name of the game usually sold as “Mancala” is Cala.)

There is one game that as a kid my mother and older siblings would call mancalah, i never got why, so thanks for the explanation.
