In preparation for Shabbos, at what time do you RIP yourself away and exit to the real world. I found, last time, posting too close interfered with the special kedushas Shabbos touch. It’s hard for me, but I’m going to have to abstain earlier.
Wow! I had my heart in my mouth for a sec when I saw this thread posted. It sounded like you’re doing an eclipse and packing us in!! Phew! Although you’ve only (er… allegedly!) been with us for a few weeks, I’ve grown to admire your style and humor!
Yes everyone must Rest In Peace over Shabbos and have the maturity to know when they have the time and when they do not. If you find the CR is interfering with the special kedushas Shabbos touch then YES YOU MUST STAY AWAY EARLIER!!! (Cos Mommy said so!!!!)
Anyways this shouldnt be a problem for a ‘Down to Earth’ person like you… :~}

Usually once I am heading to the shower I am off for shabbos (about an hour and a half before shabbos)
By the way I have a blackberry so no I am not sitting in front of the computer a whole day 🙂

If you keep busy it isn’t so hard. I was in yeshiva then studying then cooking then studying then helping bring stuff to the shul then studying and oh did I mention studying the whole erev shabbos so I wasn’t in the CR much except when studying involved being online.
We have a rule in our house that we do not open the computer on fridays no matter what!!!! It’s a great rule. Everyone should try it!

ZeesKite: I just realized something if you find it hard to stop posting then maybe you are addicted??(sorry sounds a little harsh) posting in the CR shouldnt be something you have to literally refrain from doing erev shabbos.
Posting in my opinion just means if you have something to say, share, comment, or argue …
I guess it all boils down to a happy medium- as with everything else.
When I first started here, we had a joke about the posters who disappeared that they were in CR rehab. I think it would be a good idea to actualize such an idea. In other words, stay out of the CR until you internalize your non-virtual life and then come back with the breath of real air.

What I am trying to say is stay away for say a week or two with NO PEEKS!! Then once you have gotten control of yourself, come back. We like to call it CR rehab

No! We want you here! You add quite a lot. Just from what you are describing it sounds like you need some CR rehab in order to function here properly. Normally I would NEVER prescribe CR rehab but from what you sound like …

Yes and you have to be fair to us because the mods fell asleep for about an hour today so that takes away an hour that none fo your posts got through!

Why wouldn’t you understand someone who wants to say “Good Shabbos” every week?
Is there a way, maybe like the one who made the Jewish calendar, to ‘Good Shabbos’ automatically all future Shabbosim, without user intervention?
Should I tell my family and friends “Good Shabbos” once now, for every week forever, and not have to bother every Shabbos? It kind of misses the point.

i usually listen to music or a shiur while cooking, so when done cooking (about 1-2 ish these days) and need to clean off kitchen table, then computer goes off! but im not a coffee addict so s’ok, more like an email addict
