Why keep them around?
שאלה גדולה שאלת. David Hamelech also pondered such questions. HaShem showed him the usefulness of each creature… They all serve a purpose in HaShem’s great orchestra.
If we can eradicate them, at least the ones that carry disease, then we should. Unfortunately we can’t really do that. But the idea that every species must be preserved is completely without any basis in the Torah or in logic. We have Boruch Hashem wiped out the smallpox virus. It is extinct and that is a wonderful thing. If we can make more dangerous species extinct, that would be wonderful too. Hashem’s creation is imperfect. He left the world unfinished so that we would have room to improve it. And one way we do so is by removing dangers from the world.
We could ask the government to establish a program to provide for mosquito welfare.

Mosquito born diseases are not difficult to contain. All it takes is quick implementation of policy and Federal oversight. Like the Zika outbreak in 2015. Wooops! It is not 2015 anymore. Never mind. Destroy all mosquitos. Make America Great Again.
Do we have to stop at mosquitoes or can we take out wasps/ hornets as well? We need bumblebees and honeybees, but the other types are just mean.
