A good tip is to turn off your phone (BLACKBERRY)

recently, in every shul you go to the entire davening people are texting on their phones. Why can’t people set aside a little time to daven? Does everyone have to text the entire day???????? The world is meshugah!!

I was in Washington D.C. recently, and there were a bunch of members of the H.O.R. that were texting. Looked ridiculous.

if I remember correctly some shuls are puting or planing on puting a device that blocks the cell phones

shmeril: that’s a brilliant idea, if they do it in colleges, they should for sure do it in shuls! but few would say about the real important calls, say from a pregnant wife that don’t want it!

sorry mmroosinehry youre in the wrong thread for that but if u want i heard the reason tefilos aren’t answered is b/c of talking during davening

davening tip: In order to have your teffila answered, you have to believe that Hashem is capable of giving it to you and that he will.

you also must know that you are standing in front of Hashem Yisborach. Lehavdil: If you were standing in front of the president begging for something, would you be making jokes, would you be shmoozing with someone else, would be busy texting? How can you do it in front of Hashem. Are there not enough tzarros in the world? Walk throught the hospitals and go see whats going on how many frum yidden are so sick, and you are sitting there and laughing joking during davening, how could a person possibly do this. If you aren’t serious by davening when are you serious? PLEASE, DAVEN AND STOP DOING OTHER THINGS DURING DAVENING!

The Shulchan Aruch says that if someone talks during chazaros hashatz “Gadol Avono Mintzo”. This is unnacceptable. It is assur to talk from baruch sheamar until after tachanun, and low and behold we all see many doing it

    #656744

Do people not hold of the shulchan aruch. This is all basic halacha that everyone knows. Are we lacking in our yiras shamayim????

mroosinsehry: the issue is people just don’t think before they act!

i once heard if u daven & have in mind pirush hamilos if u don’t have in mind youre talking to Hashem youre not yotze. i think thats our problem we don’t realize that

also, another tip for better davening is not to speak nivul peh. THe mouth that speaks nivul peh can’t daven to Hashem.

mroosinsehry: How do you know how powerful teffilah is? And what does not talking have to do with davening?

i mean’t talking during davening. I ACTUALLY learn the halachos of tefilla!

to follow in what mroosinehry is saying the chofetz chaim says the reason tefillos arent answered is because the mouth that says lachon hara Hashem won’t listen to
